Coolbreeze
Hi all, I have been viewing this forum for quite a while now and realised I should probably join and seek some advice from people whi have been through the migration process. I do have a couple of questions that I would love some answers to...if possible. . I have completed my IELTS and am just currently waiting for AITSL (Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership) assessment. This seems a rather long wait (10 weeks) for a certificate considering the PGCSE and BA Hons IS enough for teaching in Australia...but, oh well!! First question - I am also looking to gain Victoria state sponsorship - seeing as they need Secondary School teachers in ICT. Their state website asks that I apply to them FIRST, before putting in my EOI??? This i found odd as every single other state wishes you to supply the EOI Ref No. Thus, after you have submitted your EOI? Is this correct? and more importantly, can I put in the EOI anyway and then apply?? Second question - This leads on from above - Can i later add a state sponsored visa later on in my EOI. For example, I only tick 189 visa and after VIC give me a decision i then ADD the 190 visa and select Victoria? Third question - Regarding AITSL - I have paid for my assessment to be sent via tracked mail. Will they send me an email with the tracking number? Anyone else used this service for outside Australia? If you got this far, then THANK YOU for reading all of this and I appreciate any help. Thanks Guys...
Rupert
If you qualify for a 189 then. I wouldn't even bother with state sponsorship. I cannot think of any reason why you could not put the EOI in before you apply for state sponsorship though, if Victoria don't want to know the number then don't tell them. You cannot do the EOI before skills assessment however.
Coolbreeze
Rupert, Thank you for your response. The reason behind the sponsorship was due to the speed of which visa applications are dealt with by DIAC. Having read this forum, thoroughly, I have been very surprised at the turnaround from EOI submission and the visa invitation. I like that people have placed this in their 'signature' - as I have now done. I am now pondering as to whether the state sponsorship would indeed be useful at all. Perhaps, If I find I have not had an invitation after a few months I may go down that process. Thank you
Coolbreeze
Also, just to clarify - VIC will want the EOI Ref No., but only after they have given approval for the sponsorship. This process is 12 weeks and I realise most of the people on here never really waited this long for their 189 Visa invitation...
Rupert
The 189 applications are being turned around pretty quickly at the moment, going through a state sponsorship process first could end up taking even more time overall.
zonfishy
Hi Rupert, I know this is not the correct thread for my question. But I need quick advice from you. I'm in a serious situation I believe. Just after I got my approval for 489 regional sponsorship I got an invitation. My points given by the EOI were 60. I too claimed 60, so I didn't want to see the points break down document provided in my EOI homepage. But after the invitation I just went through it and hit the ceiling. Eoi has given me points for Australian Work experience which i didn't want to claim. But I wanted 15 points for overseas work experience. unfortunately EOI has counted only 10points for that which i don't know why. Even after my qualifications also i have 10years experience. There was no question to answer as 'yes' or 'no' to Australian Work experience, like "Do you claim points for Australian Work experience?" All employment details were filled in the same form. I have 1 year offshore work experience with an Australian Company. When filling those details under employer's country I mentioned Australia. Otherwise how can i write my country's name in that box, which is not existing in my country. However EOI automatically gave me 5 points. I have all work details with that company, but physically i didn't work there except one business visit last year. My other problem is why it didn't give me 15 points for my overseas work experience though i have more than 10years experience. I have all relevant documents to prove and claim 15 points for overseas work experience. Why this has happened? I couldn't do anything to reverse it back. Will i be able to convince my problem to the CO with all my docs and tell about what EOI automatically did to my points and claim 15 points for overseas work experience? Please tell me about my situation. Will my application be rejected for what i didn't do and what EOI points calculator did to me? Need advice. please help
