Ja55ren Posted November 29, 2013 Share Posted November 29, 2013 Hi everyone i am new to pio but have been reading some of the reviews and really impressed with how supportive and friendly people are! Moved to mackay about 2 months ago with husband and two kids (2 yrs and other one is 9 months old. I'm 33 and desperate to meet similar people so that me and the kids can start to make friends. Other half works at the hospital and has a social life whilst we are climbing the walls!!! if anyone in the same boat do drop me a message and we can do coffee or something!! It's about 2 hours from you but if your ever this way I also have two boys ( 5 & 3 ) and would be happy to meet up. Finding it hard with being at home while hubby is out loving his new Aussie life. Currently trying to decide between destination Sunshine Coast or Mackay. Have been offered jobs in both areas (nursing). We have two young boys under the age of 3 years. I would be really interested to hear how you are finding it living in Mackay and how you find the area with having young children? How do you feel about the move to Australia? Where to and how you finding it? Mackay is a great place depending on what you are after. It's difficult with young children but I'm joining a playgroup tomorrow and hope to get the kids and myself socialising. It's a long road to settling down but guess it takes a lot longer than I expected. Where did you get the job offer in mackay base hospital? That's where my husband works and really does love it!! I am from somerset originally but have been living in Oz and new zealand for the last 10 years, my partner is from Mackay so we moved back here last year. I totally understand how hard it can be to settle in a new place and especially meet new people. I have a son who is 16 months and another on the way.
