Hi Eveyone,

If anyone know anything about the criteria to assess Bachelor degree by ACS. I got 3 years Bachelor degree from the Pakistan. Following is the negative result that I receive from ACS:-

Your Bachelor of Computer Science from XYZ completed XXXX has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a major in computing.

Could you please inform what is the criteria to assess Bachelor degree for ACS?

Following is the complete text:-

Your ICT skills have been assessed as unsuitable for migration under 261112 (Systems Analyst) of the ANZSCO Code.

You have been assessed as not meeting the requirements for professional information technology experience of five (5) years in a field closely related to your nominated skilled occupation.

Your qualification has been assessed as follows:

Your Bachelor of Computer Science from XYZ completed XXXX has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a major in computing.

Actually, I submitted my Bachelor Degree with 4 years of professional IT experience. Because they treated my Bachelor Degree as a AQF Diploma, now I have to submit 5 years of professional experience instead of 4 years. Now, I have to submit a new assessment with 5 years experience and new fee.

My question is what is the criteria to assess overseas Bachelor degree for ACS?

Unless the degree is accredited or is part of the Seoul accord, ACS will use: https://aei.gov.au/services-and-resources/pages/aeinoosr.aspx to compare the degree against the Australian education framework. The AEI-NOOR will also have information on each countries educational framework and they will look to see if this also compares.

in very general terms a bachelor degree will need to be at least 3 years full time study after 7 years of secondary/high school education, but commonly 4 years would be the normal bachelor degree period of study.

I would assume in this instance that the educational framework of Pakistan does not directly compare to the Australian framework and they do not believe that the 3 years you studied is a sufficient period.
