Mechanical technician looking for advice

Hello, first time poster here. I have just returned from a holiday to Brisbane and Perth and I am keen to get things moving with regard to moving over.

I am currently working offshore in the North Sea as a mechanical technician and have been for 5 years now after achieving an OPITO apprenticeship 3 years ago. Therefore my job is on the CSOL as fitter (general) and I am keen to move to the Brisbane area. My only concern is availability of jobs as a mechanical technician in the Brisbane area. I have a well paid job here in the UK and with the visa costs I am obviously concerned about not being able to get a job due to having no Australian experience.

Another option I have is to go over on a working holiday visa as I am under 30 however this will obviously have it's limitations.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks for replying. I was thinking about doing exactly that however I can't imagine I would get much response so thought it was maybe worth asking on here.

I know there are two oil refineries in Brisbane but not sure if there is plenty of oil and gas job opportunities for mechanical technicians in the area.

One option I am looking into is to get the working holiday visa and get a job while out in Brisbane and hopefully get sponsorship from a company while out. I was hoping someone had some advice or even if someone had done this in a role similar to mine as a mechanical technician/fitter.
