Subclass 190 rules query

Hi all,

 

Having read the posts in this forum and various websites, the key restriction for subclass 190 is that you must live and work in the relevant state (I'm going for Melbourne, Victoria with my family).

 

Does this rule apply to entire family or the main person applying for the visa 190? My family to stay in another state and I would be in Melbourne.

 

Also, once the visa is approved and I go to Melbourne, does my family need to check-in \ register somewhere (inform someone authority that we're here)?
