merlino Posted September 24, 2013 Share Posted September 24, 2013 Hi I'm quite confused with the Bridging Visa situation I'm currently on 489 (expires 7 Jan 14), applied for 887 (permanent Visa) on the 29th Jun 13. Rupert Posted September 27, 2013 Share Posted September 27, 2013 Well I am not clear what period you mean you want to travel in, so it is hard to answer you specifically it is very important that you note the following. At the moment you have a BVA running in the background, but you are not on the BVA you are still on your 489. If you travel and plan to return before the 7 Jan 14 you would still be on your 489 and free to leave and re-enter the country. But note that the BVA running in the background will be cancelled and you *MUST* get it reinstated otherwise you will have no visa and no status come the 7 January 2014 if the 887 is not through by then. Perhaps you could put up your intended travel dates though as it isn't really clear what issue you may have without knowing that critical information.
