bar100 Posted April 1, 2013 Share Posted April 1, 2013 Leaving Sydney on Saturday to chase down our 3 months farm work. We (my girlfriend and I) were thinking of heading to Cairns and maybe going to the Banana Barracks in Tulley to try there, having heard good reports, but Ive just phoned them and they said work has slowed down and they are close to full up. Is anyone in Queensland working just now that could recommend where to go? Are working hostels the best way to approach it as opposed to seeking out the farms yourself? Starting to get majorly stressed out now, tried every number we've found, tried every place that does banana picking in queensland that i know of and every one of them says they have no work. Our visas are up at the end of August and Im starting to worry big time that we wont get enough work to sort out our 88 days. Will literally take work anywhere we can find if its goiny be fairly consistant.
