I'm possibly purchasing the camper but i'm wondering on rough running costs + food + attractions for a full month. cloclostravels Posted January 22, 2013 Share Posted January 22, 2013 very dependent.. if your looking to buy a van around 3k average. we hired a minivan from sydney to brisbane and that was a $1000 (between 7 of us) and we put in around $200-$300 petrol (I think!!) If you are going to cook for yourself id say budget around $10 but it all depends on what you will be eating etc. you can find all the way across the coast $10 meal deals of an evening, some will even do free meals at the local backpacker bar. Attractions is what is going to cut in to your funds. My trip cost $1200 from brisbane - cairns. this included greyhound accom, frazer island, whitsundays, Great barrier, skydive and bungy.
