xlilvickix
Hello, Does anyone know if on a 489 regional visa you can live in Perth area until you have found work and accommodation in regional areas? Thank you
Rupert
It cannot be that hard to find accommodation can it? I am sure you can stay temporarily somewhere, that would be like being on holiday wouldn't it. But you cannot set up home in Perth as your visa does not permit it. Of course there is the question how would anyone know where you are living, this would come into play when you need to prove that you have lived in a regional area efore you progress to the next stage. dibongo
Hello, Does anyone know if on a 489 regional visa you can live in Perth area until you have found work and accommodation in regional areas? Thank you Hi xlilvickix, We intend to do exactly that and live with my wife's parents for a couple of months until we get work and get a house in mandurah and our container arrives, it states on the WA website you must inform them of your PERMANENT address and the clock starts ticking from there for PR. It doesn't say anywhere that you can't live temp in Perth when you first arrive, and it would be insane to expect people who have got ready made temp accommodation to spend cash on a short term furnished rental when that money can go towards helping successful settlement.
