Possible path to Permanent Residency but not guaranteed. Why do you want to buy? 1) How do you know you will like it in Australia? 2) Unless you have the money to speculate (if you have not a 20% deposit then I assume you don't) you should consider buying a home to be a long term investment. 3) If you leave at short notice you my have to sell at the wrong time in the cycle and possibly lose money on top of the expense of moving on. 4) Interest rates are high wrt Europe, so consider the real cost of ownership vs renting I suggest renting until you are clear and have some confidence in your future residence and residency.
