To those of you leaving or have left the uk. did you request your medical records from your GP to take with you or did you leave them be?

many thanks

I got a printout from the GP of all the immunisations the children received just in case the red book wasn't complete. Dentists seem to prefer taking their own x rays here rather than relying on others and doctors will ask all the questions they determine to be relevant.

I guess if you have a serious illness or specialist hospital visits, then more info might be best?

As long as you have any childrens immunisation records with you, you really dont need anything else. If you have a specific illness you can get your specialist to write you up a statement of where your condition is at, procdeures youve had and medication your on but as most GPs charge ,really dont bother with standard medical or dental records.

I didn't bother getting mine - I am quite able to tell any doctors I see all about my medical history, but then, mine is (thankfully) short and easy to remember.

Dentists want up-to-date X-rays in order to detect early decay or other problems.

Unless you have a serious or ongoing medical condition there really is no need. You can fill in your medical history blanks yourself for the most part.

Other than that, the only thing to take would be the red books for kids if you have them (kids that is) for immunisations purposes.
