runslikeafish
Hi all, Is there anything in Aus similar to a UK ISA? i.e. a vehicle in which I could buy shares or whatever in a tax efficient way. ...on a similar vein, are CFDs taxable in Aus? They're not in the UK but I can't find anything better than a "best guess" answer. Many thanks all!
Andrew from Vista Financial
Hi No in a word. Superannuation is one of the best methods for investing tax efficiently however access to funds is generally the biggest issue here. Family Trusts can also offer tax efficiency but will depend on someones cumstances as to whether these may be beneficial. Also Life/Investment Bonds can be an option however generally these are limited to Managed Funds for investment options. Regarding CFDs this may help http://www.aussiestockforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7401 may be a bit out of date though, perhaps Alan Collet (Tax Advisor) could comment.
