Guest comingtomelbourne
Hello I am looking for holiday ideas. We are not in Australia yet but will be from August. My other half is having her 40th in November. We have some holiday booked, from the 19th to the 28th and I need some holiday suggestions. Ideally we would like to go somewhere sunny but not dreadfully hot and humid. Preferably beaches. A kids club or some sort of children's activities might be nice but not essential. We will be living in Melbourne. One idea I had was Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island. I would plan to fly to the Sunshine Coast airport, drive up over a few hours stopping once or twice, get the ferry across and then have a week on Fraser Island and then come back. Any other suggestions? Thank you R

furkew
We recently went to Alice springs for our 20th wedding anniversary (2 adults & 2 kids). Flew from Melbourne to the Alice. Hired a camper for 8 days, and travelled to all the attractions in the area. No beaches unfortunately, but some fantastic hikes, heaps to see & learn about the culture in the red centre. November will be nice and warm, but not too hot.
Guest comingtomelbourne
Thank you. That is an idea I had not thought of. I should have said, however, the ages of the children. In November our youngest will be 6 months and his brother 4 years.
Guest
Hamilton island is a great place if you can stretch the budget, you can either drive or fly to the island, if driving park your car at airley beach and get the ferry over,I dont think driving is an option to you though, as you are too far south. http://www.hamiltonisland.com.au/ Edited July 8, 2012 by proview
