Primary schools in Balwyn

Hi Guys,

 

We have just found a suitable rental propert in North Balwyn and now need to find a good school for our 4 year old daughter.

 

Does anyone know of any good schools both public and private?

 

We would appreciate any advice.

St Bede is a good school, Greythorn, Belle Vue, I don't think you will go wrong with any of them

Balwyn is in the City of Boroondarra so if you look at the web site http://www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/ should give you information.

 

Children start school at 5 and the the cut off date for turning five in the year they start is end of April. A lot of people these days are keeping them back and letting them start a year later. Prior to primary the children go to kindergarten.

 

Balwyn is a popular area as its close to most of the good private schools.

I'm not far from Balwyn North. The Balwyn North primary school has a good reputation in the area.

 

A couple of the private ones that I have heard good things about are Fintona (http://www.fintona.vic.edu.au/) and Strathcoma (http://www.strathcona.vic.edu.au/). Strathcona has a preschool which a mum from our preschool sends her daughter to a few days a week.

 

One of my other friends sent her eldest to the preschool in North Balwyn and has good things to say about it.

 

The myschool.edu.au website is a good way to compare the local schools.
