Guest hayley74green Posted June 3, 2012 Share Posted June 3, 2012 Hi Please can someone answer the following 2 questions I have about taking our ping pong Golden Retriever back to Australia. Our dog was born in Australia and returned with us in January 2011 having had her rabies jab the previous May. I need to know if the process of taking Rosie back with us later this year is in anyway different to that of a dog who has never travelled before. I also would like to know if it is possible for a dog to leave the u.k early and complete the blood tests and remaining quarantine period in Australia. BobPetairUK Posted June 4, 2012 Share Posted June 4, 2012 Dear Hayley Basically your dog gets no breaks at all from AQIS for being Australian born - the rules are the same as for any dog entering Australia. Your dog will need rabies vaccination then rabies blood sample then wait. Your dog can travel early, but is not allowed out of quarantine until a point 180 days after the date of the rabies blood sample or 30 days whichever is the greatest.
