Peach
I feel I should point out that ordinarily permanent residents are not able to get an NV1 clearance - without a citizenship waiver sponsored by the government agency..
Sibella
The consulting company ensured me that Permanent Residents can and should feel free to apply.
Freckleface
I feel I should point out that ordinarily permanent residents are not able to get an NV1 clearance - without a citizenship waiver sponsored by the government agency.. Good point to raise given the consulting company will have no input into the NV1 clearance or the decision to grant a Waiver. It would be wrong to mislead people that an NV1 is a tick and flick exercise.
Peach
The consulting company ensured me that Permanent Residents can and should feel free to apply. All I am pointing out - thanklessly it seems - it that people with permanent residency cannot easily get a security clearance. The head of the government agency needs to approve each citizenship waiver. The waivers need to describe the EXCEPTIONAL circumstances as to why an Australian citizen cannot be recruited to fill the post.
Sibella
I am just acting on instructions given to me, but personally I feel applicants have nothing to lose by applying.
