Joanna82
Hello! Something just struck me, due to my place of birth I also hold citizenship of a high risk country. I have lived all my live in low risk countries and hold a low risk citizenship. None of my documents except the birth certificate (proof of work experience, degree, finances etc.) are from a high risk country. Does this mean I will end up in the high risk pile? Thanks for any insight!
toOZ2012
Hi, Though the HR/LR list is up on the DIAC website, it only seems to be affecting people from countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, middle-eastern countries and maybe some in South America. Don't quote me on that, though. If you can tell us the countries of your citizenship(s) then people from those countries, who have recently applied can tell you if they experienced any delays. Good luck!
Joanna82
Thanks for the reply. I've looked into this some more, I understand that most of the delay is due to external checks which in my case can't really be that many except verifying my birth certificate. toOZ2012
'External checks' seems to be a blanket excuse given by DIAC for any and all verification they outsource. If you haven't already seen the HR thread in here then you may find more information: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/109457-hr-applicants-where-you-now.html
