petersloan
Hey guys, We have two properties here in Northern Ireland and with the state of the market at present selling isn't an option.. My plan is to work hard for a few years to gather up money for a deposit to buy a plot of land for the future. Then when the market recovers sell up here and build a house on the plot. We're looking to live right on the coast and don't mind buying further out in the hope that as Melbourne further expands our plot will eventually not be as far from civilisation as it once was. We'd even buy an older house already existing in the hope of developing.. I don't mind waiting twenty years for this as its more a plan for retiring... Can anyone give me an idea how much a half decent plot of land would be and are there any companies currently specialising in selling land. Many thanks Peter.. Petals
Land is about $200,000.00 plus and that is for a 600 sq metre block, or less. To buy near the coast within cooee of the sea then you are looking four or five hundred thousand on the Peninsula where I live.
petersloan
Thanks Petals, I may tighten my bootlaces and get plenty of overtime!! I just have a vision if, God spares me of pottering around my garden overlooking the sea and looking back and feeling that all the hard work was worth it!! Wouldn't mind a shortcut to that via a lottery win mind you!! I could pay someone else to potter round my garden whilst I end my days guzzling fine wine!!

We were lucky enough to get a good block which is close to everything and my oh built our house to save money. We always meant to move back to towards the city when the children got older but we love it so much where we live we are here for ever. You can find some very nice areas its just where you will be working and how far you want to be away from work.
