  1. Hey, Im an Aussie in the UK with 5 months left on my VISA..... me and my partner have want to prove we are in a de-facto relationship and get back to Australia..... we have been living with his mum for the last year and have mail to the address photos etc...but not joint bank accounts or anything financial or legally binding with both our names on it.. boarding with his mum has just been a verbal contract... what are the odds of us actually getting this Partner (Provisional) visa (subclass 309) has anyone else gone through the same? is it really hard to get? we are in love and don't want to lose each other.. i need some reassurance that we will be ok... or some brutal honesty..
  2. Hi All Its finally great to find a site that is so informative. I'm hoping site members can really provide me with concrete information on where I stand with this, but I really don't need any moral bashing as I have enough emotional trauma going on please. My Australian sponsor/partner has been cheating on me whilst we have been together, with online web sex, sex workers, and when he was in Thailand with 2 sex workers and 1 random, (so far as I know). We've been together in a long distance relationship at first and then living together for over 6 years now. Now the 2 year requirement is up for me in February 2013 but I understand it doesn't become a full PR until you have done and sent in all the paperwork. My life is here, friends, work, studies and I do not want to go back to the UK. I do not fit any criteria as to getting a different type of visa on my own. So here's the rub, so far I have managed to turn a blind eye to what he has been doing although secretly I have recorded and kept plenty of internet activity, photos and videos as evidence - yes it is a shared computer. Main things I really need to know is: 1) if we split up before the 2 years then what kind of visa can I get i.e. international student? I don't really have any skills that can be utilised as such and I cannot get sponsorship as a) I dont have a job at present and b) my age 50. 2) Do I have PR once I have done the 2 years and the paperwork is a formality / or do I have to wait until all the 2nd stage paperwork is lodged? 3) I understand that there may be an Australian law says something along the lines of after living together for 2 years as partners that property, finance and shackels can be split between the partners, when the split up. Well I have put a lot into this relationship even if I earned less than him. If anyone can recommend, provide and support me with what I need to do, then I would be most grateful. I would really appreciate a good Solicitor/Lawyer to talk things through and a great Immigration Agent that would also help. I just feel it is now prudent for me to know exactly what is what and prepare myself for the worst. I don't believe he will change - he has many opportunities to but I'll be damned if I will take on his guilty pleasures and suffer. Also I don't want him sponsoring anyone else, I couldn't bear it for another woman to feel like I do. Thanks and I hope to hear from you all soon.
