  1. Hi Microstarba, If you don't mind, could you please tell me if you applied for the passport after the ceremony? How long after the ceremony were you able to apply and have you received it? If you have, how long did it take after you applied? Thanks
  2. Thanks Kuwind. Me neither. I never thought that they would even be open on a Saturday so it was quite a surprise there for me as well. Either 30 April 2022 was available or 6 May 2022. I am pretty sure it showed all other dates were not available. I do not remember now to be honest. As we head towards elections, it seems like Victoria has got some wheels tied with it (working on Saturdays) Good to be in the city on a Saturday btw. Its quiet and you can have little fun driving around. Finding parking is the best feeling ever.
  3. A quick update. Test/interview done today. I received my test/interview invitation via email yesterday (20 April 2022). @MLB_Applicant (thank you for sharing the link to reschedule the date). Luckily, I was able to reschedule my appointment to 30 April 2022 (today). Just came back from the test centre (passed the test). To my surprise, they were open on a Saturday. The whole thing took about 25 minutes for me (about 5 minutes for the interview and under 20 mins for the test). We entered the premises, entered the client ID and were asked to go to level 2. The lady just asked for the driver's license and passport to verify details. Confirmed basic details like DoB and address. I was allowed to sit the test. But you must take along all the required documents they have listed on the invitation email. Some tips for everyone. Do study the material available online as the questions were little tricky for me (it would possibly just be me as I panic and get nervous quite easily). I managed to score 100% after spending good time. - Please do spend time understanding the question. - Avoid making choices in a hurry. - Do not create hassle for yourself. - You will not miss the train. - There is plenty of time. - First attempt is not end of the world I came back after the test. Another important thing. I am an owl who spent all night studying the online testable material and that was the reason I confidently rescheduled the test/interview to today (when I only received the invitation yesterday). Another reason was that I was done waiting for over 13 months after applying. So I just wanted to get done with it. I will now be waiting for approval and ceremony. This forum provides a lot of information and gives hope, specially to those who have been waiting for a very long time. Everyone goes through the same process. Do not lose hope and stay focused. Thank you everyone and good luck.
  4. It was, indeed. Most of the people in my circle who had applied in March last year, have received the invite, including myself.
  5. Congratulations mate. I just checked my email and I have also FINALLY received the test/interview invite for 24 May 2022 Tuesday. I was honestly losing hope. Waiting without any information tests your patience big time. I am happy for you Kuwind. Best of luck with the test.
  6. 12,263 more citizenship applications submitted last month (March 2022) ==> by conferral. Somewhat 19,000 applications were processed from all over Australia. Far better than 10,000-12,000 applications getting processed previously. Wait game continues...
  7. Nah, we share the same council. They received the invite few days back, which is a good news. Yes, mine is 17 March 2021. I strongly believe that it is only a matter of days until we hear something. March 2022 is so far looking good. 3-4 months on average after approval for ceremonies is also not bad. Not bad at all for Victoria.
  8. Thanks for the reply. Please do let us know when you hear something. Just heard from someone who had applied late March 2021, they got test date for later this month.
  9. I applied on March 17, 2021. Still waiting for the invite. We shall hear something in the next few weeks. Probably by end of this month or mid next month. Please do let us know if you hear something from the department.
  10. Many congratulations. Could you please confirm, how were you able to reschedule the test?
  11. Thank you. Please do let us know when you apply for the passport and finally get it. And all the best for your ceremony.
  12. Many congratulations. It's an exciting news. Hope they keep up the pace. To my surprise, they took care of about 18,000 citizenship applications last month (overall - by conferral). So happy that things are slowly speeding up.
  13. Do keep an eye on the emails and keep checking the immi account for any news/message/update.
  14. Too many people including myself are in the same boat as you. Someone who applied in Jan 2021, he only got the invite few days back for the test in late April 2022. So, slow and steady, we are getting there.
  15. Not sure if things are quick than before but based on how things are going at the moment, you can expect an invitation this month for the test next month. Please let us know if you hear something.
  16. That's actually agonising and stressful. 9 months after the interview, yet no approval or update. Hope you hear something soon. The whole visa process, permanent residence and citizenship process is a total chaos. I would say, a nightmare. Every month processing times on the offical website change. How fair is that. I have noticed, on average 12000 people apply for citizenship each month (by conferral) from all over Australia. And yet, Victoria is in severe backlog. What is more painful is that there is no answer, no solution, nothing.
  17. I have been following this forum for more than a year now. You guys have been amazing. Your posts are very helpful. Here is my timeline: State: Victoria Permanent Residence 16 March 2020 Citizenship Application Submission 17 March 2021 Heard nothing since then. Waiting on Test/Appointment Waiting on Ceremony 13 to 24 months to process is pretty unfair I think. Specially when we see other states doing so well when it comes to processing citizenship applications. Victoria is the second largest state (population wise) after NSW. Yet, NSW is way ahead of us. NSW has suffered lot more than any other state. Victoria was on the second. The processing times for applications have been pathetic. Patience is being tested big time as one can not plan anything. Have not seen family in years. But I am hopeful that I will hear something in the next couple of months from the department. Everyone out there, waiting, stay strong, stay connected. You all are super-awesome. Live the dream and stay blessed. Hope you guys hear from the department soon.
