  1. Hi All, I was granted my citizenship today! Incredibly excited and relieved to be at the finish line. About 12 months for the entire process from submitting my application to receiving my citizenship. 7 years prior to that for PR and multiple temporary visas, etc. Wishing you all the best on your journey for citizenship!
  2. Sorry to hear about your long waiting period. I've been waiting approximately a month. In the Manningham council. From what I've read officially, it can take up to 6 months from your approval date to get the invite. So I'd be expecting your invite to come through between now and the 8th of December.
  3. Hi, I called the department a few days ago regarding this and was told that the invite will be sent via email and should also appear in your immi inbox. Just to be sure, keep checking your immi account. Upon checking the Stonnington Council ceremony dates there are a few more for the rest of this year. Ceremonies are scheduled for: Tuesday 20 September 2022 Wednesday 12 October 2022 Wednesday 16 November 2022 Tuesday 6 December 2022 Wednesday 7 December 2022 Also, based on the advice from the DHA. You receive your ceremony invite between 3-6 months after your approval. So hopefully it should be within the next 2 months.
  4. Hi All - quick update on my timeline: @Manningham Council, Melbourne, Victoria Application Date: 24 Jan 2022 Interview/Test Invite Received: 04 October 2022 Interview/Test Date: 27 October 2022 Rescheduled Interview/Test Date: 07 Oct 2022 Approval Date: 07 Oct 2022 Ceremony invite received: TBC Ceremony Date: TBC
  5. @restaurant.manager - please read my post above for timeline details.
  6. @SSY - refer to my post above. I originally applied from Casey Council and then moved to the Manningham area. Timeline from application to Test/interview invite has been around 9 months
  7. Hi All, Update on my Citizenship Timeline: @Manningham City Council - Melbourne Application Date: 24 Jan 2022 Interview/Test Invite Received: 04 October 2022 Interview/Test Date: 27 October 2022 Approval Date: TBC Ceremony invite received: TBC Ceremony Date: TBC I am honestly very surprised at the amount of time it took to receive the invite. Based on the responses I've been reading on these forums it seems to take anywhere between 12-15 months from application to test invite. It seems like the DHA is really starting to clear it's backlog and speed up the citizenship application process in Victoria.
  8. 100% Agree! This entire process takes place end to end online. Using 2020 and 2021 as an excuse for the delays in Vuctoria is pathetic. Other states have been hit quite hard as well and managed to keep things under control and turn around time are very reasonable. They should either hire more staff to churn through more applications and bring down processing times to a reasonable pace in line with the rest of the country or remove inefficiencies in their current process, which doesn't seem to be working out too well with no end in sight
  9. Thanks for the update. It seems absolutely crazy that Victoria has such a massive backlog of applications to be processed. Does anyone know if they are planning to expedite application processing, so we are more aligned with the rest of Australia. The current ETAs are absolutely deplorable.
  10. Hi All, What's the average wait time looking like for Victorians? I've applied on 24/01/22 from Melbourne (Casey Council).
  11. Hi everyone! I'm planning on applying for my citizenship in December 2021 out of Melbourne (Casey council). I've been reading quite a lot of posts of 15 month waiting periods for Melbourne folks and it seems like other states seem to be getting their citizenships within 6-12 months. I understand this delay is due to the backlog created by the lockdowns in Melbourne. Is there a way to expedite this process and not get stuck in the 15 month waiting period. (i.e. apply from NSW, Adelaide or sit the test in those areas)? I don't even know if this is possible with a Melbourne resedential address, apologies for my lack understanding of the process. Has anyone in a similar situation in Melbourne managed to work out a quicker way to complete the end to end process rather that apply and forget about it until a year or more? Would really appreciate if I could get some insights into this process. Thanks
