  1. Yeah tickets are expensive and one reason for that being airlines are only issuing business class tickets. I read somewhere, that only 10-20 person per flight are being allowed into most cities at the moment. Hence you can understand the costs. Economy class tickets are highly unlikely to be allowed, and even if you manage to book, expect them to be cancelled at some point before flights
  2. If you can, you should try to book Singaporeair, they are comparatively less expensive than many others (Qatar, Emirates, etc.) plus they are much quicker in providing any help and support required for passenger queries. But do note, with current extra reductions in incoming passenger arrival caps, it will be almost impossible to get Economy class seats, and only business class tickets are being made available to travelers.
  3. I just frontloaded most of the documents and provided as much information as possible. Apart from that i kept uploading additional documents 3-4 months apart (updated bank account statements, new photographs, lease contract, or any info that can help support that relationship is continuing and genuine). I did not contact anyone, i did not even get any call/mail from Immigration (apart from RFI).
  4. Thank you Kamila! I will definitely remember you in my prayer, you've been very helpful. Hope you, and everyone else waiting, get their grants soon.
  5. I am so happy and excited to share this news with everyone. Alhamdulillah, my 309 was approved today, and I got the grant notification just a while ago. Below is my timeline and details. DoL: 25th September 2020 RFI: 28th Feb 2021 RFI replied: 08th April 2021 Visa Grant Date: 08 July 2021 Processing office: Amman, Jordan The whole process took almost 10 months, but really happy that the wait is finally over for stage 1. I wish good luck to everyone who is waiting for their visas, and pray you all get your grant notifications soon as well.
  6. Oh thats great! Seems like good news is on the way for you. Hope you get grant soon.
  7. Hi Mitho, Did the amman guys contact you again after your 1st RFI? Did you receive any other RFIs from them?
  8. Thanks for the helpful replies. I do intend to apply for exemption, but while reading the instructions it mentioned, that i need to apply for exemption atleast 2 weeks but no more than 2 months before your intended date of travel. I am slightly confused with this sentence. I cannot plan travel unless i have visa - since i will have to wrap up everything here in UAE, which i intended to do once i receive visa. Have you applied for the exemption yet? If yes, was your request approved?
  9. Thanks for the helpful information. I will apply for an exemption soon, and hopefully will get my visa. I have another query though, is it correct that you need compelling/compassionate reason to apply for an exemption?
  10. Even i have similar situation to you... I had applied for my visitor visa in March 2020 (thats more than a year now).. and its still showing processing. I had read somewhere that you need to contact home affairs as well as some other organisation - to apply for exemption. They issue the visitor only if the reaons are compelling and compassionate. I am sorry, i cant find the link at the moment (will share it once i find it). I didnt apply for the exemption yet, because i was busy with my work in UAE. When did you apply for 309? I applied in September 2020 from UAE, but my application is being processed in Amman.
  11. I havent seen any recent grants from Amman apart from Devops - who received their grant in May. I had received RFI on 28th Feb2021, to which i replied with all documents on 8th April. But they haven't come back since then. Saw a recent article for Amman's processing times, and they ranged from 19 months to 28 months. I just hope they improve on their processing times, and we dont have to wait long.
  12. Thats strangely wierd, if the application fee was deducted from your account - your application should be reflected on the system. I think it can be system error. I have not come across anybody else who had this siutation before. Maybe you can try refreshing/resigning into your account to check if it reflects back. If the application still does not show up in your account, its best to write to home affairs department, with your fee receipt/account statement showing deduction, and ask them about your future course.
  13. Please, if you dont mind me asking, can you share your timelines? DOL, date of 1st and 2nd RFI, etc? I would really appreciate if you can share the details. Hopefully, it will give us an idea how long do the Amman office usually take to respond after RFIs.
  14. Amman office seems awfully lot slow though (based on previous processing times they took to finalise)!!! i just hope they speed up their process....
  15. Good luck!! Hopefully you and everyone else who is waiting will get their grants soon!
  16. Wow! its been long for you then... you are almost at the average processing time limit for the 75% applicants. If you dont mind me asking, where did you apply for the 309? Did you apply from pakistan?
  17. I had received RFI on 28th February 2021 from Amman office. Submitted all documents by 8th April 2021. No response/reply yet from them since RFI. This was my first RFI (and hopefully last). Brief about me - Applied for 309 from UAE in September 2020. Application being processed in Amman (since the RFI email from CO was from Amman). All documents frontloaded (except medicals and PCC) - which we submitted between early Feb to April. I have seen there are atleast 2 other applicants whose file is being processed in Amman. So we are all in the same boat. Recently noticed (on another site) that Amman office recently granted one 309 for a pakistani applicant, and the processing time was 23 months (see attached screenshot). I just hope it does not take this long for our applications.
