Hi @Sanket723, congrats on your visa! Our baby was also born in feb 2021. How did you go with the medicals for your baby? Did you go to BUPA Medical centre or just attached a letter from a GP?

hi Elena, firstly congratulations and hope you're coping well with the newborn. Just a letter from the GP was sufficient, i checked with BUPA and they said they don't actually do medical assessments for babies under 6  months so that's not even an option. Hope this helps !

Hi Mate, i was in a same situation and same occupation a while ago,

You will just need a signed E medical consent from the parents and you will just need a Letter from your GP stating that baby is good healthy and with usual development for a 3 months old baby.

    you do't need physical examination.

This is what case officer has asked

MEDICALS : As your child is less than six months old and in Australia, an “on the papers” health assessment can be completed - that is, you do not need to physically take him to a Migration Medical Services Provider clinic in Australia for a medical examination. We will need to ask for an E-medical consent form for the child so that an “on papers” can be done, providing this is all supplied before the child is 6 months old

Before I can request an “on the papers” health assessment to be undertaken, I need you to provide me with the following additional documentation:

    ·         REPORT /LETTER from your child’s treating general practitioner, paediatrician or obstetrician in Australia

It should state that they have examined the child and provide details of the child’s health and development including, but not limited to:

    o   general health,

o   growth parameters (height, weight and head circumference),

    o   hearing,

    o   vision,

o   and if relevant, chromosomal abnormalities, physical or intellectual impairment, or conditions that may result from maternal-foetal or maternal- neonatal transmission (for example, HIV infection), and

    i hope this helps

@ki@cu - thanks for this, I've provided the letter and consent form to the Migration Agent. In your case, how long did the health assessment take to be finalised after you provided these documents?

  4. Got some movement today. Case officer has now requested a medical for my newborn (just 3 months). BUPA's website says

Children aged less than 6 months old and born in Australia do not need to complete a visa medical in person. Your visa processing officer is required to submit a paper request on your behalf. Please speak to your visa processing officer for further information.

can anyone shed some light on this if you've experienced anything similar?

My timeline is as below -

    VISA - 186 (DE) accountant

Location - VIC (onshore) - 3 applicants (myself, wife and newborn baby born after lodgement - all onshore)

    Nomination lodged - 31 October 2020

Visa lodged - 9 November 2020 (at that point medicals for me and my wife were provided including relevant tests related to pregnancy)

Baby born on 18 Feb 2021, form 1022 form submitted along with Birth certificate and passport in March

    Nomination approved - 29 April 2021

Request for medical for baby - 25 May 2021

My last 186DE for an Accountant in Sydney was lodged in August and approved in September.

@Raul Senise - just a question, if the nomination and visa application was lodged together and nomination has been approved, how long does it take for the visa grant in general?

Thx , Yeah So as you mate.

have you got any CO assigned into your file yet? What are your timeline and occupation?

@ChrisAnt - not sure if a CO has been assigned, my nomination and visa application were lodged together.

    timeline below

occupation - accountant (general), lodged under 186 DE

applicants - 3 onshore (myself, wife and a 3 month old baby born after the application was lodged)

My agent told me that my Nomination has got approved yesterday morning. Silver email is in the hand, Guess this is a good sign.

CO requested new AFP, still waiting for the police report check

based on experience, what is the longest period of time you guys waiting for AFP result?

@ChrisAnt - I've taken a AFP a couple of times, usually gets done in 10-14 days. Congratulations on the silver email. I got my nomination approval on 29 April - still awaiting news on the visa application since then.

    Hi All,

Finally got a bit of movement. Immi asked for further documents for nomination.

Any recent Accountant nomination approval, Did they ask this to you?

"Evidence of Occupational Licence/Registration - Please provide evidence that the
applicant, at the time of application, currently hold or are eligible to become the holder of
a license, registration or membership to work as Management Accountant 221112."

If so, please let me know what documents would satisfy this?

    TIA

@Scomo - I got my nomination approval for Accountant General last week. No questions were asked. Regarding your query it is usually dependent on the occupation as some occupations require the employee to be officially registered with a relevant body in order to carry out the duties. I think Mgt Accountant may be one of those occupations. Evidence could be your registration certificate with CIMA or a similar body? Though your migration agent should be able to advise.

Mine got rejected due to CFO reason only in 2019 case officer mentioned company doesn't need accountant and its over 15 million turnover. I applied for AAT same time hoping file opens soon with positive outcome. Currently looking for agent who can handle these type of cases really frustrated 😞 with the process.

@cvohra @amber @sXth @klt888 I'm also waiting for news on both nomination and visa application. Nomination applied on 31 October and visa on 9 November under 186DE for Accountant from Victoria. No news on anything till now!

Great you've got so far ! My nomination was lodged on 31 Oct 2020 and visa application on 7 November 2020. Medical completed on 9 November and all decision ready documents provided. Haven't heard anything on my nomination or visa yet ! The nominating company is ASX listed and over $500m revenue. Just 2 applicants, both onshore as well. The waiting is creating so much anxiety!

Who told you that the status was "AWAITING APPROVAL" as there is no such message on the ImmiAccount.

@Raul Senise - you are correct - I went and saw the HR, and when they showed it to me on screen it is "Received". Nomination was submitted on 31 October 2020. Company is large ASX listed with over $500m in Revenue - any clue how long the nomination approval would take? I've already submitted a "decision ready" visa application with medicals etc. all done. Applied onshore

  16. Hi All

I'm new to this forum but sharing my timeline and progress.

Visa application category - 186 (Direct Entry) - Accountant (General)

    Applicants - 1+1

Nomination applied by company - 31 October 2020

Visa application filled - 9 November 2020 (didn't wait for approval to come through)

Medical - 11 November 2020 (again didn't wait for case officer, just proactively got this done)

All other documents like local and internal police check has been provided.

Nomination status last I heard was - AWAITING APPROVAL

    Visa status - APPLICATION RECEIVED

Any clue on what "AWAITING APPROVAL" means for Nomination? does it mean it's at an advanced stage or no idea?
