you need not do anything with council. THEY are just event managers and have no say - on who attends when. They just facilitate the event and give u certificates . Play the wait game.

Basically speaking, MNB is bit behind for ceremony, as compared to person who attended test/interview on same day - and got approval on same day - depending on council list. Just remember, people from different councils, come for test on same location and then get dispersed/segregated for ceremony based on councils .

No harm trying. But it is a region specific lockdown and not nationwide. they may not give it to your far distant people - assuming you are safe/away.

Because of covid, they may not ask for many documents. I think you should be fine. You cant help urself in one day. So better assume, they will not ask birth certificate and ask for passport or DL. Concentrate on your test. Get all other docs in original.

The following types of circumstances are not considered genuinely urgent or compelling: • Overseas travel for employment, holidays, family reunions or weddings • Pre-purchased airline tickets, cruise tickets or overseas accommodation • General entry-level employment requiring Australian citizenship • Expired passport (if you are travelling overseas before your ceremony you are encouraged to apply for another passport from your current country of citizenship) • Expired authority to return to Australia (if you are travelling overseas before your ceremony you are encouraged to apply for a Resident Return visa)

I think ONLY NSW people are getting virtual ceremonies. No one else. Can someone confirm.

Maybe because of AFP Police check. Did they say we will do your Police check ? I don't think they do random check... is it for all ?
