    IPA and CA ANZ confirm your qualification for accounting jobs. First step is to confirm your education. Once they do that, they will assess and confirm your work experience. Your international experience will count but irrespective you need to confirm your education first.

    Thanks Marisawright, it's true the process is as you described. I am keen to hear if anyone had a real life example of this happening and the consequences. I know immigration revoke 186 on character grounds (they publish stats on this) but what about employer initiated?

    As the title says, keen to hear a real example. I read many opinions online but no specific examples of it going one way or another. Does it ever happen?

    You don't need to be CA qualified but they are one of the two bodies confirming qualifications. You will need them to assess your status and rule on gaps. The cost is about 500 dollars, but you can speak to them first to see what is needed etc.
