I am so happy and excited to share this news with everyone.
Alhamdulillah, my 309 was approved today, and I got the grant notification just a while ago.
Below is my timeline and details.
DoL: 25th September 2020
RFI: 28th Feb 2021
RFI replied: 08th April 2021
Visa Grant Date: 08 July 2021
Processing office: Amman, Jordan
The whole process took almost 10 months, but really happy that the wait is finally over for stage 1.
I wish good luck to everyone who is waiting for their visas, and pray you all get your grant notifications soon as well.
Wow it is such a great news
Congratulations
please pray for us too

Well, I just got my 309 and my 100 granted this morning! That was about 10 weeks from start to finish, yikes.
Time to start making plans I guess...
Wow congratulations
May I know where your application was processed please? Did you do anything differently that led to faster processing time?
thanks for sharing -

Hey Mitho
is your husband in Australia on visitor visa? How long has he been on visitor visa? Didn’t he have the condition of no further stay on his visitor visa?

Thanks so much Kamila for your support
I forgot to mention that my wife already got the travel exemption before we apply for the visitor visa. They are very slow
I would definitely appreciate your keeping me updated with your status. Thanks
Hi Popdude,
just letting you know that I got my partner tourist visa approved in less than 2 days for 6 months stay.
for me the hardest part was getting an exemption which took around a week but visitor visa came in quite quicklytry emailing them perhaps?

Hi Kamila,
Applied: 10 November 2020
Biometrics: 20 Nov 2020
Submitted the application, letter of support, marriage certificate, insurance cover, Evidence of shared financials
My application was not rejected (yet), just no response
Do you have any experience with this?
I have just applied for an exemption now and have not heard back. I think we need to get an exemption before we apply for visitor visa. I think it makes the process much smoother and easier. I will apply for 600 visa as soon as I get my exemption approved. Will keep you updated of the outcome

Hi Popdude
when did you apply for 600 and what documents did you submit? Did they give you a reason for not approving your request?

Looking for replies
My agent told me that she received an email saying that application is being processed. I asked if that means a CO has been assigned and she said she doesn’t know. It had no detail of the any CO.
i have never heard from immigration at all. No RFI nothing at allcould that be possible that a CO has been assigned? Any similar cases?

It would have have been easier if you had asked this question when they gave you the form!
Suggest you fill it in, and say 'no' to any parts that ask if you or family have any military/militia background, national service/conscription etc. There are still parts that you will need to fill in, regardless of having no military background.
I didn’t go through the form then. I thought it is just simple easy task to do and was too happy to get home and fill it out to send to immigration

Why would they ask you that? Did you do military service or was part of a liberation group or worked for the government?
If you or family haven't, is sure is odd hey.
Not sure why they asked tho. No one in the family has any military background.
could it be due to our visa condition? We were on skill visa. -
Hi all,
i had my test yesterday and passed with 100%. They asked me to fill out the form 1399 and email it to them. It asks about military history of myself and my family and no one in my family has any military history. What should I do? Should I leave it blank? Any help is appreciated
thanks

So I attended my Citizenship Interview today. The lady who took my case was very nice and friendly, she told me that she would look through all the documents I have uploaded and if she needed to see any additional documents, she would tell me. She didn't ask for any additional documents except my Medicare card (I have prepared everything in my bag just in case though).
She asked me only 1 question, whether or not I have had any offences including traffic offences before, I honestly told her that I had a couple speeding tickets, she asked me whether or not I had to go to court for those, I said no, then all good!
My timeline:
- 23/12/2019: application submitted, Melbourne Southeast surburb
- Some time in Feb 2020 I received invitation for Citizenship Interview on 27/05/2020, then it was postponed not long after due to the pandemic
- 28/01/2021: received invitation to a Citizenship Interview on 25/02/2021, rescheduled to 05/02/2021
- 05/02/2021: Citizenship Interview, all the process was verrry quick! I was inside only 20 minutes , approved on spot (the officer told me that she approved the application after I've got 100% mark on her iPad, it would show up immediately on my ImmiAccount, I've just logged in and had a look, my application was approved)
- waiting for ceremony invitation, the lady there tole me that I'll probably need to wait up to 6 months for it...
Hi there,
Do you mind sharing the link you practiced for your citizenship test? Thanks
-
HI All,
I applied for my citizenship in April 2020 and today I got the email request to do my test in March2021 at Parramatta
Could someone please suggest where I could practice for the test?
Thanks,

It's crazy as we had no notfications and had not finished uploading evidence and we got both the 309 and 100 back to back in 7 weeks.
You were indeed super lucky. I’m starting to believe that it really depends on luck.
Once again congrats- 1

Yes we front loaded our application with medicals and did biometrics within 2 months. But still we are waiting after 20 months . When did you lodge?
That sucks really
i lodged March2020. I have always been really optimistic. Before lodging my agent promised that it won’t take longer than 1 year and now she herself says the dep is not processing offshore applications
So stressful and disappointing

Did you apply from Dubai office? Unfortunately it will take a very long time be assigned a case officer as Dubai office is 6-7 months behind. I know of people who applied from Dubai (afghan applicant) who are waiting 24 months with no case officer assigned . It’s been almost 20 months for me with no case officer assigned. Send me a personal message and I can add you to Facebook messenger group of other afghan waiting for 309
Thanks Alina. Just sent you a message. Have you also submitted all your documents? It really is longer process for Afghans I can tell

Woww congratulations to everyone who has been granted their visa. I have submitted all documents and the latest document was biometrics which I submitted on 16th November. But I have not yet been assigned a CO. I asked my agent and they said no news yet. Can anyone relate? How long does it to be assigned a CO?

Hi dear is there any biometric centre in Sydney?
Hi Mitho,
Since you're applying from Pakistan, you need to do your biometric in Pakstan, you can't do it in Sydney I believe.

Has anyone been able to book appointment for biometric collection?
Even though it says that the VAC opens today, I'm still unable to book an appointment. Appreciate any kind of help to get through this process
Thanks,
