new to the page guys.... can I just clarify... is it really taking up to 7 years to get partner visas (as per one of the posts above!) my sister and her partner applied for the fiancé visa 300 and they've been waiting now for almost 3 years (he is british, she is a perm resident here- also british)... they've provided everything that they had to provide and then were asked for character refs and new police checks again about 18mths ago. I'm trying to understand how this process works bcos they literally haven't heard a single thing since then.. after reading posts in here I'm starting to think this must be normal? my concern is that my dad is basically terminally ill and its terrifying to think it might still take them another 5 years before they even get any updates or further info? they have a lawyer... but the lawyer seems to constantly tell them that there's nothing much he can do... that immigration wont tell him anything.. does this sound right?
