We are the same @Lauren L and @OzinEire - our RFI was 22 Feb! We replied on 24 Feb and... nada...

When we received the RFI, we had an email notification - if you hit 'reply' to that, it will go through to the consulate in London. However, be prepared to get a standard autoresponse in big red letters back (which indicates that they won't pay any attention to visa queries/chasers).

Congratulations @Kayse - I am so incredibly jealous you've gotten yours so quickly. We submitted in July 2019. We are feeling very disheartened by the wait, and the fact our RFI seems to have disappeared into thin air. As you say, at least we know IMMI are working. I just wish they'd work on ours! 🙂

Thank you. Hope you get yours soon too 🤞

We're still hoping to move to oz by the end of the year. Does anyone know where to find or who to email to let them know and hopefully keep the ball rolling on the visa process. We had just had an RFI to approve permanent visa before everything was put on hold!!!

We just replied to the email that had our RfI. Yes you get the big red letters but dont know if we were lucky or not but we got another email with a proper response on it aswell.
its always good to give it a go. Just remember to write name birthdate and reference number in the subject of the email. They dont look at any emails unless these are stated.

  3. An update from us. My husband was granted his 309 and 100 a couple of days ago. We are super happy as we have tickets booked for may 27 to move to melb. We had applied for a evisitor visa and exemption to fly for my husband but dont need it in the end 🙂

    this was our timeline:

    - applied 29 Jan 2020

    - RFI 20 Feb 2020

    - submitted RFI 14 march 2020

    - notified immi that we were going to travel to australia on 8 may 2020  (received email back stating they are in the process of further assessment and will be in contact in due course)

    - grant 14 May 2020!!

good luck to you all. hope this is some hope for everyone  at least immi is working we know that 👍

So we have taken the plunge and booked flights on 1st July, also our removals booked the day before.
Ive still got my car to sell but worse case scenario I can leave it with a relative to sell for me at a later date.

We have only booked travel as far as Melbourne as we know we have to quarantine there for 14d.  Not yet sorted onward travel to Tas as I can’t get my head around the red tape.  We may have to re quarantine but the rules say if you are travelling with kids you can self isolate instead.  To add to confusion I think I may qualify as an essential worker thanks to my job....but it’s all a bit vague and even if I am it doesn’t say what rules then apply to the family.

Life in UK is pretty much wound up now and I have a new job waiting for me to start 1st August so we figured we would take the plunge.

You have mentioned you booked removals could i ask which company with? We’re flying out from Manchester to melb on may 27 But still looking for a company to ship our furniture

I’ve seen several people mention “permission to fly”.  We have flights booked with Qatar on 1st July.  Myself and the 2 kids have Oz passports, Hubble has got his 309/100.  We thought we were ok to go as citizens/ permanent resident.  Have we missed something?

Nope you hasn’t missed anything. The exception only applies to anyone that isn’t an Australian citizen. But your husband now has his 309/100 so he doesn’t need to get permission. He is now a resident of Australia. Hope that makes sense

I applied for my 600 visa in December and it took 11 days. I flew out 6th feb thankfully. I got an email one week after being in Australia that they were ready to grant my 309/100. I had booked a trip to New Zealand on the 1st April but it all got cancelled. I’ve got until September to fly out 🙃🙃🙃

Aww you were lucky just missed the crisis. I applied for an evisitor 651 for my husband instead of the 600 visa as he only wants to take us to australia and return back to the uk for a couple more months and hopefully get his 309/100 for his next trip around.
he was granted the evisitor within hours and the exemption as well 🙂

@Kayse My wife is currently in Australia with our son and having waited so long I applied for the 651 evisitor visa whilst my 309/100 visa is being decided and followed up with requesting an exemption to travel as an immediate family member. I had a response within 3 hours notifying me that my request had been accepted and my evisitor visa had also been granted at the same time. The exemption is valid for the duration of the evisitor visa and I plan on traveling to Australia mid-May. The link to apply for the travel exemption is below.

Thanks so much for your response. Happy to hear that you have your evisitor. Gives me hope that my  husband Will be able to accompany myself and our son to Australia. I don’t want to travel alone being pregnant as well.
hope you get your grant soon

  8. Hi everyone

just a quick question to all. Has anyone applied for a visa 600 in the past couple of months while waiting for their grant and if so how long did it take to receive the visa 600?

we still want to make the move by end of May as i am pregnant and want to travel early before birth but still waiting on grant so thinking of applying for 600 for my husband.

    Thanks in advance 🙂

    Hi all

New to the thread but been reading most of the last few pages. We have just applied on the 29/01/2020. Received an RFI on the 20/02 for us to submit subject access information for ACRO. Applied online now just waiting to receive it before we upload to immi.
i was so excited to see an RFI but looks like most of jan 2020 applications are getting some RFI’s.
FYI- i (sponsor) australian married to uk citizen. Met in 2010 married in 2013 one child plus one on the way.
    good luck to us all!
