@kimbosliceĀ oh no !!!! Weā€™re flying Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong 31/12/20 at 22:00. Honestly everyday I have this sick anxiety feeling in my tummy so worried weā€™re going to get cancelled orĀ bumped etc. Iā€™m sorry to hear about your emirates flight. Thereā€™s availability showing with Cathay Pacific on my flight. Take a look x

Did you book direct or via third party? We want to book third party as itā€™s a lot cheaper but weā€™re worried any changes or flights being bumped if weā€™ll be affected booking it third party? Itā€™s just so much money on top of the quarantine costs, but I believe we can pay them off via a payment plan?

  2. Canā€™t believe Iā€™m actually writing this but our partner visa has just been approved šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜€šŸ˜€ Ā

    Timeline-

    Lodged- Jan 2020

    RFI- Feb 2020

    Approval 309- Sept 2020

We had to apply for an exemption as my partners visa is expiring here soon so have to leave after that date, Iā€™m so thankful and relived!

Thanks everyone for your support and guidance this forum has been a great help.

    Hey guys,

We are (hopefully) flying to Australia from London in September - I have a travel exemption and 600, whilst awaiting my 309 approval.

My question is, does anyone know if 309 applicant's applications are still being looked at once they're in Australia (ie getting asked to leave for a decision).

Hope that makes sense, would be good to see if anyone has any insight/experience with this.

    Cheers!

    Jack

From what Iā€™ve seen no, but this could change some people Iā€™ve seen that managed to get out there have considered cancelling their 309 and going onto the relevant onshore application. I would seek advice from a professional first though or call immigration and ask for advice, not sure theyā€™re allowed to give specific visa advice but itā€™s a free option before having to pay for the relevant lawyer.

On another note, and please donā€™t feel the need to post if itā€™s due to very personal reasons, but HOW did you manage to get an exemption Iā€™ve tried numerous times, attached so many documents Iā€™ve used for my current 309 visa and all they come back with is saying ā€œyou donā€™t meet the criteria for immediate familyā€ which baffles me as weā€™re in a de facto relationship and even submitted 888 stat declarations stating this? Iā€™m worried that because we live with my mum and donā€™t have a joint tenancy agreement due to this situation that they may reject because of that but we cannot help our personal circumstances! We uploaded our joint bank statement along with a few other proof off address bits, but donā€™t know if weā€™re missing something or doing something wrong?Ā Sorry to offload all this just really stressing us out, feeling helpless!

    Ā

    thanks in advance.Ā

  4. Hi guys quick question, when applying for an exemption to travel, do you have to apply for the 600 visa prior to applying? And when you fill out the exemption request when it asks you to reference the visa in question would you reference yourĀ 309/100 as well as the 600 in hopes that it may get expedited and so that they can view all the required evidence thatā€™s already been uploaded onto your existing application or so you need to resubmit all your evidence at the time of applying for the exemption? Thanks :)

A de facto relationship is the equivalent of marriage, so it's treated exactly the same.Ā  Ā If you're financially reliant on each other, how are you going to manage with your partner not being able to work?Ā  And what will he do if the partner visa doesn't come through before the 600 visa expires?

We both have savings so would be fine, but obviously the longer one of us canā€™t work the more that would affect our life savings which we didnā€™t want to have to use due to this situation. The financial burden isnā€™t our biggest worry, itā€™s been separated indefinitely. As no one knows how long restriction could be in place so itā€™s worrying us as we have never lived apart before and donā€™t want to ever have too.

    only a few days

With regards to the exemption & 600 visa. I havenā€™t applied yet but wondering if our situation is similar to anyone elseā€™s and if theyā€™ve had an exemption granted. Me and my partner have been together 3 years (not married no kids). Have submitted our 309/100 application. Intend to move out in the next few months. Are we likely if just in a de facto relationship to be approved? The reason we would want to move out together is because we financially rely on each other and currently living in my mums house but we need to move out soon as sheā€™s promised someone else can move in. (for when we are supposed to be leaving). Also my partners visas ends soon and thereā€™s no other way to extend it here... any thoughts would be appreciated if anyone else is in a similar situation to us and been granted an exemption. Very stressful times šŸ˜©

@TmdukĀ this is fantastic news šŸŽ‰Ā
    Ā

Iā€™m applying for my exemption on Sunday as our flights are booked for September 14th.Ā
    Ā

@Shaggylom keeping everything crossed for you.Ā

@TmdukĀ do you know what grounds youā€™re able to apply for an exemption? As they say if youā€™re registered de facto you can, but I wasnā€™t sure if you had to have a compassionate reason. We live together and have told our work weā€™re leaving before the New Year, but not sure if that would be granted? OurĀ application has had an RFI and weā€™ve done our medical and police checks in Jan as they requested it. We want to fly out this year but nervous about booking flights until weā€™ve had a decision.Ā

  8. Everything seems to have gone quiet, which Iā€™m guessing confirms that indeed the Australian High Commission are either not working, or minimal staff or theyā€™re doing all the visa preparation for approvals but wonā€™t be able to approve any visas until travel restrictions have been lifted/ relaxed? Such annoying timing as there seemed to be so much movement! Anyone else thinking the same? I just want to hear back so we can start planning moving dates and flights etc... but also get there are bigger more important things going on just not knowing is the hardest...Ā Ā

Does anyone know if the ID documents for the people that filled out the formĀ  888 need to be certified if you're offshore and uploading docs online? Forms have already been witnessedĀ

No they do not, the 888 forms need to be witnessed by a solicitor but ID documents do not need to be certified just need to be high quality colour scans.Ā

    Hi,

This also happened to us. We submitted on the 24th Jan 2020. Have you had previous visas to Aus? I lived there for 5 years before returning to the UK last year to do a Masters. Also, we're moving back to Perth so wondered if they're fast tracking regional areas (they just re-classified the whole of WA including Perth as WA and issued a new regional visa).Ā

    Thanks

    Hello,

Yes I only got back this time last year to the UK, I was out there on a WHV for 2 years (thatā€™s how I met my partner), now theyā€™ve moved back to the UK and living with me. Weā€™re going back to Melbourne when we go back. Seems very odd that weā€™re having them looked at already but for all we know they may just not be as busy at the moment for whatever reason! Would be good to hear updates from you or anyone else whoā€™s in this current position of super fast responses from January. As when I first saw the processing times of 16-21 months it made me panic as my partner only has 12 months left on his UK visa so we were worriedĀ as once thatā€™s expired neither of us can obtain a visa with working rights in a matter of days, weeks or months... This visa is literally our only option!Ā So very stressful I just hope it all works out, weā€™ve both agreed that one of us if needs be will just support the other whilst their on a tourist visa in our home countries until itā€™s been processed but we both have such a drive and passion to work hard it would be hard doing nothing for potentially months... So fingers and toes are crossed that itā€™s done swiftly šŸ™‚

  11. Hi all,

Hoping your combined knowledge and experience can assist me.

I lodged my partnership application in the UK on 25/01/2020. I then received a RFI on 14/02/2020... and my immi account has now moved from received to initial assessment.

Theyā€™ve asked me to upload via email absolutely everything onto my immi account,Ā including medical and police checks within 28 days.

Now I donā€™t want to be presumptuous and get my hopes up too much, but from experience could this well mean I could have my application finalised imminently once Iā€™ve supplied all the requested information?Ā
    Ā

    Thanks in advance šŸ™‚
