    Update to Victoria’s subclass 491, 190, 188 and 132 visa nomination programs

The Victorian Government’s state nomination program will remain temporarily closed while we await the Commonwealth Government’s allocation of state nomination places for 2020-21.

In the meantime, you will not be able to apply for the following state nomination visas:

    • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491) visa
    • Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) visa
    • Business Innovation stream (subclass 188A) (Provisional) visa
    • Investor stream (subclass 188B) (Provisional) visa
    • Significant Investor stream (subclass 188C) (Provisional) visa
    • Entrepreneur stream (subclass 188E) (Provisional) visa
    • Significant Business History  (subclass 132A) (Permanent) visa
    • Venture Capital Entrepreneur (subclass 132B) (Permanent) visa

We will notify you when the 2020-21 Victorian state nomination program reopens after further advice from the Commonwealth Government.

You can still lodge your Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Commonwealth’s Department of Home Affairs SkillSelect system.  An EOI will be required before you can apply for a Victorian visa nomination.

NZ is free of Corona, Australia plans to be free of Corona in July. This might let them go to step 3 or their opening plan. In step 3 they will consider international student to return to Australia, so this could open the boarders for temorary visa holders. 188B is a temporary visa.

Anybody has any news from their application and processing?

    Unfortunately, no news till date.

    Hi all,

We submitted medicals and PCC monday, and received comments this morning. It stated they are not in a position to finalise the application due to current processing priorities and restrictions in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Their final note was “Rest assured, as soon as I am able, I will finalise the application”.

    Congratulations,

I am still waiting a reply from my case officer. My visa is 188A since 25 June 2018.

I submitted a complaint though my agent but still no response.

one question please, do you get the information from your officer by email or that comment was sent to your immi acount?

I had submitted  my application 23 months ago in June 2018 and the file sent to an officer 7 months ago.

I also heard in news about travel restrictions may be continue for at least two months more , mainly all news channels are busy in high lightening the bad relationship between China and Australia. I think it will be better for other countrie’s applicants regarding immigration , plz give ur opinion

Hm, if you ask for my opinion, I do not think this will make any difference. I think in Australia is the principle of equal rights. So how they would argue that they give preference to applicants of other countries? They would need a "medical reason" to do so. But China is officially more or less free of Covid19. So Australia could ease up the travel restrictions for China before Europe, USA and other countries. So it might be the oposit. China applicants can travel before others, so they get the visa granted earlier than others. Even if the media is negativ about China, it is still a hugh economic factor for Australia - students, exports ... And economic support is needed in most economies these days.

    Totally agree with 3together
