You can apply while your in Australia for a subclass 820 and get permanent residency with the subclass 801.
if outside Australia it’s the subclass 309 followed by the subclass 100.
Both the above are partner visas.
A working visa will depends on your trade and if it’s in demand Down Under.Â

Hey my sister is moving from the Gold Coast to the outskirts of Warwick, does anyone live in or around the area of Warwick?
I'm curious as to what Warwick has to offer in the way of work etc..

Great news on the job and house.

So any regrets 3 months on?
How has the house and job hunting been, if you don’t mind me asking?

Hi everyone,
Just to update you all, my partner's 309/100 visa was granted yesterday!
We applied at the beginning of March this year. Had a request for more information in November (Health Assessment and ACRO police check) and we finished uploading these updates yesterday. The visa was granted yesterday! Apparently it was granted in Tel Aviv, not London.Â
I have a couple quick questions in relation to the visa being approved....
1. My partner's passport is going to expire in the next 6 months so he needs to renew it before we travel to Australia. His visa grant letter details his current passport number which won't be in use by the time we relocate. Do we need to alert them to the updated passport info, or does this not matter? And if so, how do we tell them? Through the immi portal, or contacting the embassy directly? Bit clueless on this one, and want to make sure we do everything right in preparation.Â
2. Does anyone know about visa entry conditions? We've tried to look up on vevo which ones would be relevant in my partner's 309/100 visa but it's not clear. The immi site states that condition "8502 - Not arrive before person specified on visa" could apply to the visa. As in, he might not be able to enter Australia to activate his visa without his sponsor (me) entering at the same time. Does anyone have any experience/understanding of this? Does it only apply to the temporary visa (309) or to the permanent residency (100) visa too? It's possible he will need to travel there solo to activate the visa if we can't all get over there in time by the final visa entry date. So we want to be sure on this, as apparently if the condition does apply, they can cancel your visa on the spot if you don't enter the country with the sponsor (me).
Thanks for any advice you can give! And i've got my fingers crossed there are more visa approvals on the way for you all.Â
Go back into your immi account, it will allow you to update your partners passport information.

You were indeed super lucky. I’m starting to believe that it really depends on luck.Â
Once again congrats ÂI think our application was pretty clear cut though, together for 24 years and married for 14 years and both children being Australian citizens. Plus all my brothers and sisters living down under.
Â
Maybe that's why it went through so quickly.

It's crazy as we had no notfications and had not finished uploading evidence and we got both the 309 and 100 back to back in 7 weeks.

Is your wife provide them biometrics?
Yes she did.
What is RFI?
The crazy thing is the application was maybe 80% complete, as we didn't expect them to look at it for over a year! Still in shock that it happened so quickly!

Amazing news, we applied on the 6th October and my wife got her subclass 100 today!! Barely 7 weeks!!!
I received back to back emails granting the 309 Subclass and 100 subclass visa's
Â
We're so happy.

Did mine via the immi account last year took just under 3months. I did both my daughters citizenship which gave me a discount when I applied.

Hi Cal,

Are you currently driving HGV?

No we only applied at the beginning of October. i realise they may not look at my application for atleast 17-24 months, but at the point they look, I'm curious as to the length of time taken until the visa is granted.

It took about 3 months for my daughters citizenship to be approved, I applied in July 2019, and it was approved around the end of October. Bear in mind this was all pre Covid.
