It is very difficult to predict at the moment as the Government regularly changes the processing standards.

Add to this that many case officers are working from home, which increases the unpredictability of processing standards.

Generally though, it does appear that priority is given to on shore over off shore applications.

I thought that might be the answer. Thanks.

Are you a Registered Migration Agent? as your details do not seem to appear on the MARA register.

Not sure where you are getting your figures from, as the Government has reduced the Skilled, State Sponsored, Regional and Employer sponsored Permanent Residency Visas for the program year.

Skilled independent reduced by over 10,000 places.

State sponsored reduced by over 13,000 places.

Regional reduced by over 13,000 places.

Employer Sponsored reduced by 8,000 places.

As such your statement about there being more vacancies for skilled immigrants to apply for Australia PR is not correct and very misleading.

I applied for a 489 nearly a year ago and have a travel exemption and a job (hopefully waiting for me). It’s been over 6 weeks since we got the exemption and nearly 4 weeks since the case officer requested our police checks that were already attached. These were resubmitted.  Any advice on how I move this on? We have called Home Affairs and so has our agent and now we are completely stuck in limbo. Do you think the quotas have really affected our chances?

    Dear all valuable ppl,

my wife, son and I have been granted 489 offshore on Jan 2020 and I am seeking a job in SA.

I am a radiographer but it is not in priority skilled job list.

I am wondering if i found a job and got an offer, can i apply exemption?

and if I can, is the exemption will be granted to main applicant only? or all of my family?

thank you for your time to read and looking forward to hearing any idea.

There’s a radiographer on this site who has been granted a travel exemption. Search “exemption” and it should come up. I have been given a travel exemption too. Have a job waiting for me, but still waiting on my visa decision. The family included on the visa application are given the exemption to travel. Good luck!

Tell me about It I am a nurse in ICU working in WA, we are all just waiting for the next wave to come, but fingers crossed it won’t happen. My Daughter has state sponsored visa, which was granted January but is unable to enter the country at this present time and can just see the 4 years of her visa ticking away .

Has your daughter requested exemption to travel?

A family of 2 adults and 2 children (members of this forum) had to isolate in a hotel in Melbourne for 2 weeks then again for 2 weeks in Adelaide.  Probably the same for Hobart but best to check though.  Tassie is fairly strict so I should think you would.

Damn. Thought the transit would be a way of doing just one set of quarantine. Thanks.

  6. Would anyone know if international arrivals would have to quarantine at arrival city (say Sydney) for two weeks even if just transiting and then quarantine again in Hobart? Can’t seem to find out that kind of information.

  7. I had a few quotes for a cat and small dog and it seemed to be based on number of pets and their weight and what level of input you want in terms of injections and health services beforehand from the pet transporter. Rabies jab takes a while to organise and get blood test back which shows immunity.

I read it as Hillbury asking what he would need to do to get an exemption in order to speed up their 190 application. The answer to that is it wouldn't make any difference.

On re-reading it appears it was a hypothetical/educational question rather than asked in relation to Hillbury's situation

Apologies, I was confused earlier and responded too quickly.

I had my travel exemption granted (Wednesday this week) to leave early September, however my visa still showing as received. Submitted April27th so past with the 3 months processing time for a 491 State regional. Has anyone else been or in this situation? And if so how long did it take for visa to be granted once exemption was approved. Thanks

There are other people on this website who had exemptions granted and their visas were still pending. Think in less than a week the visa was granted. When did you put your exemption request in? Best of luck with everything!
