  1. Hi All,

We'll my time has finally come to say I've got the golden email and my visa 309 and 100 were granted this morning.

I knew it wasn't going to be long as i'd been contacted by ACRO on Monday for permission to let them verify my police check with the Australian High Commission.

Perfect timing as we've fly on the 15th October.  Thanks for all the support and hold in there.... your visa is on its way despite the wait.

    • Congratulations 5
  2. so we have bitten the bullet and booked our flights to Brisbane with a holiday stop over in Thailand.

At this stage I don't have my visa confirmed but expecting that "golden email" any time now as I applied in November 2018. Should the visa not arrive before we leave mid October, I'll have to travel on a holiday Visa or Bridging Visa. has anyone got experience of this scenario?

    the main question are,

1 - would a Bridging Visa allow me to stay in Aus and transfer to the partner visa without leaving the country

2 - would i need to be back in the UK before traveling back to Aus on the partner visa (or would another country closer be OK)

if anyone can recommend a solicitor / lawyer i can speak to that would be great.

    thanks.

@AH88 I was thinking the exact same thing this morning. I could be waiting till June 2020 (90% in 20 months).

I feel how you are feeling and it's getting extremely frustrating now. I move next month (tickets booked) but now looking at tourist visa options incase visa isn't granted in time 😞 it's so disheartening to see 2019 applications granted and us 2018 lot still waiting. Don't get me wrong I'm excited for everyone but it'd just a very long time to wait.

At this point I am eagerly waiting for thse who submitted RFI evidence in May to get an email as then I feel I will be closer to receiving an email too!

    🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I'm with you on this. My application was submitted from London end of Nov 2018. I completed my medical and police check and then asked to submit RFI on the 6th June. At that point I was given 28 days to turn it around, but had it submitted with in 2 days. I can't believe its another 2 months further on and still no change to the "Further Assessment" status on my IMMI account.

Util its granted I cant book flights or shipping, and have just sold my house with a completion day the end of Sept.

    very frustrating.

My husband applied Oct 31st and uploaded everything except medical and we haven’t heard a peep.  We are in Canada but I’m hoping it’s a similar timeline to the UK?....

update on my application., I've had a RFI to supply my police check. Coincidentally I made the ACRO application on the 2nd May in anticipation it would be requested soon. All being well that gets returned by the 16th May and uploaded to the IMMI account the same day.

Does anybody happen to know the approximate turn around time between submitting the RFI, through to getting a visa being granted?

    recap of timeline

Applied from London 27th Nov 2018 (front loaded minus Police check)

    Medical completed 3rd Jan 2019

RFI received on 9th may - UK Police check for myself (applicant)

Does anyone know if you need to submit both the Form 80 and the Form 1221?? They both seem to have the same information requested and seems like I’m duplicating info? I’ve done the form 80 should I do the form 1221 too?

I've completed both the 80 and 1221 forms. Although they appear contain duplicated questions, there are are slight differences , which I've presumed is used to cross reference the accuracy of the information given. Having spent a lot of time gathering details and pulling together evidence, I decided not to leave anything to change and extending the approval process

there are online tools which you can used to convert the 80 and 1221 into editable word docs. that should speed up filling it out too.

@Belfastchild That's odd they've asked you for another UK police check. Are all the names you've been known by on your certificate? I also thought they were asking for my UK police check again but it was on the checklist page, under my name, that it was a bit clearer and they weren't asking for it again. The letter is formatted in a confusing way! I never had any luck in getting through to a case officer previous to our grant but I think a few people have listed a contact number for the department on this thread.

@Bruce down under RFIs for police checks etc come through as an email (and will also be noted on your IMMI account).

@mia.oh.my thanks for the information. I'll keep checking daily in that case.

  7. Hi, I've just joined and hoping i might be able to get some advise around what notification others are getting following the the 309 visa application being submitted.

to give an over view of my time line -

    • 309 visa lodged on the 27th Nov 2018
    • All information front loaded
    • Health examination 3rd January 2019
    • Now awaiting for someone to make contact.....

How have others been contacted for RFI and Police checks, via email or through the IMMI portal in the application section?

I just want to make sure i'm not missing anything and like others, I think i''m going mad from checking application everyday!
