  1. Hi All,

Pleased to say that it was my turn to receive the golden email yesterday! Thanks for the advice that is on the forum it was a great help, I did the entire process by myself without MA's or lawyers so I definitely got some knowledge from here so thanks again for that.

  2. Hey guys,

Quick update, my nomination got approved September 4th so I applied for the visa that day, did my medical last Friday 13th Sept. I’m fully aware I’m asking how long a piece of string is here, but what’s the rough timeframe I can expect to wait? I think I saw somewhere on here it takes about 28 days if there is no further issues? All other documents are submitted so I think I’m on the home straight now.

If anyone has a rough idea let me know.

    Thanks!

  3. Took a break from this forum for a couple of weeks so apologies in advance if this has been covered recently. I am about to put my 186 visa application in and just wondering if it is possible to do the medical without them having to request it? So I basically submit everything in one go?

    Thanks

Up to you really. That was my initial thought too. I didn’t know about this forum at the time and now I’ve had a good look at the spreadsheet for 186 I realise the people that apply for their visa before the nomination is approved are definitely being processed faster. That said, a lot seems to have changed since April with some applications taking less then 2 months to get approved.

Yeah, I just know I’d be pi**ed if my nomination gets refused for whatever reason, but I’ll be double pi**ed if it got refused and I lost a further $4k in the process. I’m happy to wait it out for that reason alone lol.

I have. I regret it now though, I could be in for another long wait. If you haven’t lodged anything yet and your nomination chances are looking good I’d definitely recommend applying for both at the same time.

I’ve only applied for my nomination... I’d rather be patient and wait it out rather than gamble with $4k personally.

@millski88 Ah right. Yes that makes sense. I'm not sure why I assumed they would be necessary!

One more question if you wouldn't mind: did you apply immediately once you're employer had submitted your nomination? Or did you wait for nomination approval?

I’m in a situation where I’ve been nominated in March 2019 but haven’t done the visa app yet, mostly because I don’t want to risk losing the visa application fee if the worse were to happen and my nomination gets refused. Has anyone heard of a case where someone gets their visa application fee back if the nomination is refused? Thanks.

    Hi guys,

I've been following this discussion for a while now, but just thought I'd share some good news and give some people hope as it can sometimes be processed quickly.

Our PR was granted today, but amazingly we only put the application in on 24th March.

    Here is my timeline:

    Occupation: Sales manager
    State: NSW
    Birth Country: UK
    Stream: 457 - 186 TRT
    Number of applicants: 4
ENS 186 Visa and Nomination applied:  March 24th 2019
-- Nomination approved on the 30th April 2019
Visa Granted on the 30th April 2019
    IMMI Status: Finalized

Keep positive. It will happen eventually.

    Steve

Congrats, is your company classed as  “accredited”?

I've literally just taken that above information directly from immi website.

    https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/employer-nomination-scheme-186/temporary-residence-transition-stream#HowTo

Select > Personalise this page.. for Sponsors > Select Gather Your Documents > genuine need for the paid employee.

Yea I assume that this would not be the case in TRT stream as occupation already occupied by 457 holder for 2/3 years.

However it is still important that other points are met - also my MA reached out and said immi are cracking down on this genuine need and got my company to build a strong business case - providing my key achievements in my role - what I have brought to the company - how I have contributed to the success of the business etc - as well providing a detailed position description including specified tasks and duties of the position.

Yes my company did all the other parts, particularly the top 3 bullet points. They did a genuine need declaration stating exactly what I do and where my position fit in the business, but didn't quite go into my personal achievements since being here... Is that something to be concerned about?

    No you do not.

But you need to show that there is a genuine need for the nominated position....

    Provide:

    • a detailed organisational structure chart
    • the name of the occupation and its ANZSCO code
    • a detailed position description including specified tasks and duties of the position

    Also provide these where applicable:

    • evidence that the position has existed and been previously occupied but has become vacant through attrition
    • evidence that the position is currently occupied by a temporary resident
    • evidence of an increase in business activity (e.g. new contracts won) requiring workers in the nominated occupation
    • evidence of overtime work or increase in overtime work for employees currently in the nominated occupation
    • if your business is diversifying, evidence of appropriate market research, business plans detailing proposed expansion and timelines, financial budgets covering expenditure and anticipated revenue and evidence of availability of funding (such as own funds or bank loans)
    • a Health Workforce Certificate from a Rural Workforce Agency for the occupations of:
      • General Practitioner (ANZSCO 253111)
      • Medical Practitioners nec (ANZSCO 253999)
      • Resident Medical Officer (ANZSCO 253112).

Thank you, would you be able to expand on this point a little further:

    • evidence that the position has existed and been previously occupied but has become vacant through attrition

I'm not sure this would be the case if the person has been in the position for the last 3 years, correct?

    Thanks

  11. For employer nomination under the TRT stream, are you still expected to show you advertised for the role and made a genuine attempt to fill the position with an Australian citizen or PR holder,  even if the role has been filled for at least 2 years already by the employee you are nominating?

    Thanks

    Hello all,

I applied April 2017 TRT. After 18 months got nomination refusal due wrong document uploaded. AAT  filed.

Again New case applied 22 Feb2019. All saving gone in this process.

    Today nomination approved.

Medical requested not other doc requested. It's was too quick. I was thinking it will take  1 year. But it happened only with in 2 months.

Half of way done. Waiting for good news

    News Agency Manager.

    Best of luck.

Nomination already granted from Feb 2019? Amazing, congrats.

Did you receive that email that others got regarding a CO looking at your application shortly?

  13. No I haven’t had it rejected, but I have not submitted my visa application because I’m waiting for my nomination to be approved first. Although now I’m thinking I should apply for the visa, but don’t want to pay for that and then potentially have nomination refused. So I’m wondering if anyone has been in that situation before?

    Thanks

  14. Received the same email today regarding my nomination being looked at shortly, I'm very surprised as I was only nominated on 8th March 2019. I have not applied for the visa as I wanted to get the nomination first, but I'm thinking now I should start the visa process as a result of this email, any thoughts on this?

    Thanks!

  15. Hi All,

New member so this question may be a little basic but hopefully you can help! We just submitted my nomination under 186 TRT stream on 8/3/19. I notice everyone seems to have applied for their visa around the same time as the nomination application. I was under the impression you need to wait to be have your nomination accepted before proceeding. Do you recommend I press ahead with the visa nomination now (without the nomination being approved)? I don't want a situation where nomination gets refused and I've applied & paid for the visa...

Any suggestions and advice much appreciated!

    Thanks!
