    hello,

    congrats on the visa grant!!!

I do have one question regarding the average registered nurse salary in  Tasmania. Is it hard to meet the minimum income requirement of 53, 900?

    thank you and good luck!

Sorry for late reply. If it is full time then not a problem at all.

    A blessed day!

Is there anyone here who has applied for 190 (Tasmania)? If there is, how long did it take  for the state to invite you to apply for the visa after you have submitted the nomination?

Tassie's website says processing of the nomination can take up to 3 months. I was just wondering if there was a chance ITA (invitation to apply) could be given within 1-2 months?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi Okcmiller,

I lodged my visa application for 19p from Tasmania. How can I help you?

    Hi M,

I am a registered nurse and i just have two months of experience  in aged care. I am thinking of moving to Tasmania. DO I need a job offer to submit EOI?

    THANKS

    Hi there,

It depends on whether you are applying for 489 or 190. Job offer for offshore application.

For onshore application if you submit for 190 then you need to work on your nominated occupation for 6 months and fulfil other requirements. In case 489 you need to work for 6 months in any field but there is some condition also. Please visit Tasmanian website. It's pretty straight forward.

Please don't delay for 489 as the last date is 20th August to submit EOI.

    Sincerely

    Mohammad.

    Hi All,

Wondered if anyone could help with possible time frames of processing of 489 sponsored visa (Tasmania) as time is ticking by and I reach the grand age of 45 in mid September. The website says 3 months, but wondered if this was worse case scenario or whether they are ITA quicker than this. I have emailed the state, but no reply as of yet.

    Thanks.

    Hi Green,

Have you received your invitation yet?

Hi, hope you guys doing great!

I am currently holding 65 points and turning 25 next month so i'll be having 70 points from next month. So i was just wandering, is there  any chance of getting 189 (registered nurse- nec) on 70 points or not really? if not is there any other recommendations.

    Thanks  heaps!

    Hi Harmann,

Just lodge your EOI if you haven't done it yet.

I know few nurses also waiting with 70 points for 189 but I suggest you to go for 190 from any state if you can fulfill their requirements.

    Wish you all the best.

    Cheers,

    Hello Modasser,

Hope all is well. Do you mind sharing what kind of visa did you get initially for Tasmania? I also have 60+5 points and was thinking to apply for 190 or 489 visa for NSW, but I might consider Tasmania as an option.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

You need more points if you apply for NSW.

For Tasmania, either you need to study or stay and work here full time on your nominated occupation for 6 months to eligible for 190.

Hi, I'm a bit confused and hope you can help me.

I am currently studying in Australia at a college. I have Student Visa Subclass 500  (Sector: Vocational Education- VET). I have started on April 15 2019 and it hasn't yet been 6 months. My wife is my partner dependent, she has my same visa. We both have work limitation condition 8104. I am currently trying to switch from college to do masters degree. I am awaiting results from a university regarding my admission and I should receive a response within a week as education starts on 15th of July. According to my wifes current visa condition (condition 8104) she cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight as I am studying at a college. According to that condition she can work unlimited hours if I study masters degree. I have talked to visa department but as always they were themselves confused and I couldn't get definitive answer.

As I understand my further steps are as following.

    1. Wait for the offer letter from university for masters degree.

    2. Ask my current education provider (college) for a release letter so that they allow me to switch my course and provider. As It hasn't yet been 6 months since start of my studies, I need their permission.

    3. Once both of my education providers agree and update my details I will need to send my new certificate of enrolment to visa department and update my details there.

Now I have a few questions. As much as I understood, as I switch to higher level of education, I don't need to apply for a new visa. My question is will Sector field of my and my wifes current visa be changed from VET to Higher Education after I start studying at masters level ? If no, will my wife be able to work unlimited hours after I start my masters degree education ? Condition 8104 states that IF I study at a masters level or PHD my partner can work more than 40 hour per fortnight. It doesn't say "if your sector is VET she can not but if it's higher education she can".

I would be extremely thankful if you guys could answer my 2 following questions:

    1. will the sector part on my current visa change ? if it doesn't change, does it even matter what it says ?

    2. If sector part of my visa doesn't change but I legitimately start studying at masters level, will my partner be able to work more than 40 hours per fortnight ?

    Thanks in advance guys.

    Hi,

As what I know that if you change your course and going upward or downward, you need to apply for new visa. That's what happened to me.

It is true that some people in immi dept don't know all those law and regulations.

You should consult with a good lawyear regarding your matter.

Once you get your visa to Masters level, your wife can work unlimited.

    Sincerely,

    M

    Hi Martina,

Thanks for your quick reply. Right now 60+5 is my points only.

I have checked all other requirements for Tasmania and find myself fitted here. So thinking of submit EOI and thanks again for your advise.

    Sincerely,

    M

    Hi Martina,

Sorry for asking and disturbing you again. Just wondering do I need to do my skill assesment again? Though last year after finishing my study I had done one RN Nec.

Since I have now 1 yr experience in surgical that's why i am asking.

    Sincerely,

    M

    Hi!

That way you'll still have only 60+5 but it might be sufficient for Tassie, I don't have a personal experience. I remember they were quite specific with their requirements for nurses so check that you fulfil all of these first. And yes I'd submit a new EOI as the previous one from April 2018 was only to NSW if I understand it correctly.

Further, you might boost your score by providing superior English or NAATI.

    Good Luck x

I submitted my EOI to NSW too (65+5) and haven't heard anything since February. I'm not an immi lawyer but think that it's almost impossible with your points to get the invite, especially from NSW. If you can study in regional Australia and gain more points, I'd go for it.

I do have my bachelor from overseas (Czech Republic) and had to go through bridging program in order to get registered in Australia.

    Hi Martina,

First of all congrats for getting the invitation from Vic as surgical nurse.

I am in the same situation like you were. I submitted my EOI from NSW with 55+5 back in April 2018 but from July 1st everything changed. It's very hard for me to accumulate points.

Now I am in Tasmania and I have gained 1 yr experience and also 5 points. I am thinking to apply for 190 visa. I am just wondering, do I need to submit a new EOI for Tasmania as i am getting many opinions from many people including agents.

    Cheers!!!
