  1. So is your migrant agent saying she can claim the 5 points for spouse. I'm not sure but is it only if you apply for 491

Yes, we have claimed the points and revived an invite. The issue lies when the points are entered into the online application form it isn’t giving an option for partner English. Our agent is dealing with it but just wanted to know if anyone has the same issue

    Thanks
  2. Hi all,

We are at the stage of submitting our visa application. Wh have received an invite, we are going in the 190 to SA.

My agent hasn’t submitted the application as she has stated that when she is selecting the points for partner section it’s only giving her the option for skills and not English. She said she doesn’t want to submit it because it won’t match the EOI!

Has anyone had this problem?? If so what did you do?

    Thank you.

  3. Hi Im sure this has been asked a tone of times - Im after recommendations for a great migration agent to get my 27 years old daughter to Australia.
Thanks you kindly for your help in advance

Hi, we are using concept Australia. Had no issues and they are very thorough. Recommend them! Based in Kent [emoji1360]
  4. If things go in a similar way, I'm about 4/6 weeks behind Lavers in the queue - so I'll update you when/if I get a CO contact (I've already done the medicals and police stuff so might get it as a direct grant with no contact at all)

Yes if you could that would be great! I hope this change in November isn’t going to effect us too much! They are closing the 190 application from November 16th to early December (date to be confirmed) my EOI and state nom form is in. However if I get an invite where does that leave me? 🤦🏻‍♂️
  5. Case Officer - the immigration guy or gal who decides if you get in or not...
If you get pulled out of the queue by a state/territory (or have masses of points for a 189) then the process isn't that long really, what takes the time is the wait to be invited to lodge a visa application - that all depends on points, language ability and the need of your career down under

Thanks for the reply! 🤞🏼 it goes smoothly and quickly
  6. Hi Martyn
I applied to SA for a 190 visa in February as a metal fabricator. At the time processing was 4 - 5 weeks and I got my EOI approved bang on 4 weeks.
Submitted my visa application at the the end of april and received CO contact at the start of this week.
Medicals booked for next thursday then all being well I may receive my visa before xmas.

Wow pretty quick for you! What is co contact? Hope you get it soon! 🤞🏼
  7. Hi all,

Would love some insight on how long we have left! On Monday we submitted our EOI and state nom application. I am a plumber and submitted with 70 points, we are going to SA on the 190 visa!

I know the processing times are 12-14 weeks for the EOI but would love to know any trades that have applied for the same state on the same visa?

    Thanks

  8. Ah, thank you everyone!
My partner is being really positive about it all; it’s me! I just want to have plan B lined up in case.
Will definitely look into extra tutoring.
Ah, didn’t know that re federal election- good to know. Will make sure I stay in the loop about everything.

Liam13- my partner really struggled with Pearson when doing mock tests. There’s only one option with Pearson isn’t there? It says on the website that the PTE general isn’t recognised when comes to immigration purposes, and must do PTE academic?
Whereas with IELTS there’s general training as well as academic...
Or have I missed something with Pearson?!

How did you get on with it all? Has your husband had any luck with the English? My advice is to go onto e2language and buy a package! I’ve sat the IELTS 2x and did not get the 7’s however, I sat the Pearson’s and had the 7s 65 + points. Be good to know how you have progressed?

  9. I'm not overly familar with Aldinga as a city (which is what it is called here, but it's more like a small town in UK terms) so someone else might want to step in here but in general it's a nice part of the world. Obviously it's quite far south as far as the Adelaide metropolitan area goes so if you had a job in Port Adelaide for example you'd have an hour's drive to get there - maybe a bit more in peak hour. I don't know where the bulk of your work would come from but if it's all over the metropolitan area you might want to consider living more centrally so that you've never got more than half an hour's drive to any job. That said, we've just finished renovating our house and I would say the majority of tradies we had through lived down south so it certainly can be done [emoji846]
I guess it's a case of weighing up the beachy lifestyle vs longer commutes.

Thanks for the insight! Will take it all on board.
  10. The new points schedule will apply to all points tested visas. What happens to EOI invitation thresholds is, of course, still to be seen. Most commentators expect them to rise slightly.

Thanks for the reply. Is there much point tho? If they are raising the points given why raise the points required? It would even it out and defeats the object, unless I’m missing something?
  11. If the state you want to move to is sponsoring your trade then it may be worth just going down the 190 route, its the same as the 189 apart from that you have to stay in the state for 2yrs (Which is nothing really).
Processing times for the 189 are showing 11 - 22 months at the minute where as the 190 is at 9 - 10 months.
I was going for the 189 but missed out on the 20 points twice by 0.5 of a point in my IELTS, then I read more about the 190 and SA where sponsoring my trade and that was the state I fancied anyway.

Hope it all works out well for you! Keep me updated on your progress! I can’t even get the 7s 🤦🏻‍♂️ reading and writing are an issue for me! Going to try the Pearson’s in a hope to boost my points!
  12. Hi all,

Can anyone enlighten me and give me a glimmer of hope?

I’m currently sat on 55points for migration to SA (65points required)

With the new changes in November we would meet the criteria of 65 points to summit an EOI.

What is the chance SA for the 190 will raise their points criteria above 65 after or before the new changes take place?

    Thanks in advance

  13. Dear all,
Can anyone inform me whether there is any change of points for Subclass 190 after 15th November? I came to know that some new changes are coming for new Subclass 491 which will be implemented after 15th November, 2019.
    Regards.

I would love to know this! Will have 65 points on November 15th. Enough to apply for SA. What are the chances that they will require more points before or after that date? Thanks in advance
  14. Hi mate.

I go in 4 weeks time and heading to Adelaide.

Nerves kicking in now but imagine that's normal lol.

    Where are you heading to?
It's a nice feeling when all your documents are sent and finally get a invite. It's just the long wait for the grant then though.

I bet mate that’s awesome, hoping to head to Adelaide too! What part of Adelaide are you going to?
  15. I think that with a 190 state sponsored visa that the state can pick who they want to nominate.
So if they want some plumbers then they will nominate you with the 65points.

I hope you right 🤦🏻‍♂️ given the fact that my wife also has a skill on the shortage list and we will be taking our two children maybe we would be the likely candidates 🤞🏼 see how it goes, I’m still going to keep ploughing on with the English just to boost the points if necessary.
  16. I’m fixed on Adelaide now, our intention was to go to Perth but after doing some research on jobs etc it didn’t seem there are many plumbing jobs available. I don’t care what visa as-long as we get to Adelaide without doing the English I’m happy lol [emoji23]
