    Morning all,

After lodging my nomination and application on Monday 15th April 2019, I was very surprised to receive an email from my MA yesterday to say our nomination was approved on Saturday, less than 5 days! Immi have requested our police checks and medical assessments. Police checks from the AFP have been lodged and I'm applying for UK police checks today. Medicals are booked for this Friday.

I've been reading this forum for a while and I never thought i'd be one of the lucky ones who receive an update like this so soon. The company I work for is pretty small.

Thank you to everyone for your help, especially @Hex ! I'll update you guys again when I hear more.

Can someone please update the spreadsheet? Updated details can be found in my signature.

OMG you are soooooo lucky!! I am waiting on the grandfathering system for Advertising specialist (assume its similar role) and its been nearly a year. Congratulations. Praying this means mine will come soon!!

My MA just advised that an email was received for both the Nomination (today) and Visa Application (yesterday) advising it would shortly be allocated to a case officer for processing.

We are writing to inform you that your application for an Employer Sponsored Entry visa will shortly be allocated to a Decision Maker for assessment.

We are writing to inform you that your employer nomination application will shortly be allocated to a Decision Maker for assessment

Omg this gives me so much hope, i am on the grandfathering system, TRT, applied end of May, LR, Advertising Specialist. Praying!

  4. I have noticed when I look at the attached spreadsheet timeline for each month and scroll up to the white section (people who are still waiting) it seems to be a lot of similar professions that are waiting to be approved for example heaps of marketing specialists every month.

Is there different weight placed on the perceived "importance" of skills? Or is it just that you they seem to do different professions in blocks e.g all Chefs together?

I am applying as advertising specialist. Which i guess is similar to marketing specialist? I am on the old grandfathering scheme... I don't believe that you can apply as an advertising specialist anymore so im worried I could get forgotten! Any other Advertising Specialists out there?

  5. My sister just got her 187 DE PR visa granted after 10 months (applied April 7th) ! She was fully expecting it to be 22 months like the time line suggests. Shes in Geelong doing Fashion buying. I hope this gives some people hope!

I applied for a 186 at the same time and I am still waiting.

Absolutely 100% do NOT put your life on hold and risk not conceiving for the sake of this visa...

What if its another 2 years? Your chances of falling pregnant shrink as the time goes on!

    Seriously nothing is worth that!

I don't care what anyone says.... GO FOR IT!

Falling pregnant whilst waiting for a visa is MORE then common and is simply just another form to fill in!

    All the best,

    Bella

Oh so its just a form? It wont delay the process at all? Thank you so much for the encouragement.

  7. Has anyone planned a pregnancy or had IVF whilst waiting for their visa?

I lodged my visa on May 24th 2018 - Advertising Specialist - NSW - LR country - Onshore

We were planning to start our first round of IVF in the next month.

I have already submitted all my medicals, would I have to do them again? Or does it alter my visa status if I get pregnant?

My choice i guess is to wait till my visa is approved which could be as early as April but could be as late as another whole year??

Or go ahead and delay the visa process? I guess i have a unique experience that I get to choose the day i concieve as opposed to couples who fall pregnant during this process... is it worth waiting?

    Hey Millie!

Very similar profession (basically falls under the same code).

I'm from UK and my Boyfriend (dependent) is from Ireland.

@Gighen87 - thanks that is great to know.... hoping its not too much of a wait, my 457 expires in 12th May so will be on Bridging Visa from then, I have a lot of overseas trips this year so ideally want it before the travel (to avoid any further costs on Visas !)

Thats great, lets keep each other posted!!

I don't think complaining or calling immigration helps, my friend was waiting for 34 months for her 186 DE visa.  As you can imagine she had called, complained after it reached the 24 month mark and nothing helped - it is just a waiting game.  She then received news that nomination was refused - very frustrating, they are going through appeal at the moment.

I am too waiting on my 186 TRT

    Occupation: Marketing Specialist

    State: NSW

    Stream 457- 186 TRT

    Number of Applicants: 2

    Nomination Applied 14/06/2018

    Application Applied 29/06/2018

    IMMI Status: Received

This last week I have uploaded recent payslips, proof of new UK and AFP Checks (uploaded receipts) to show in progress

Hey @sydneyishuk I applied a week or so before you on May 24th, for the same profession - Well advertising specialist, i assume that's the same? What country are you from and do you have any dependants.

One of our member of this forum gets his grant just in 5 months only. So be hopeful guy, i think immi processing applications quickly now.

I wouldn't use his case as an example, he processed his visa with Deloitte. My friend got hers in 3 months with Deloitte, they seem to have some magic power to grant visas in 1/4 of the time to the rest of us.

Yes, Deloitte has amazing legal/immi team but are very expensive

Yeah i have heard this from other people too... even just googling Deloitte, they seem to pull a lot of weight.... this is from their website

"Deloitte have undertaken extensive consultation with the Government since the abolition of the Subclass 457 visa was announced in April 2017. We are pleased the Government has responded to concerns regarding the removal of a number of skilled occupations where a genuine shortage of skills exist in Australia." (aware that this is for a different visa, but I am just highlighting that the government seems to value their opinion"

3 months... mmmh, i'd be very surprised and would love to see the application breakdown if you have it (including nomination timeline)?

i don't have the exact breakdown from her, but I can 100% vouch its true. I was with her the day that she completed her paperwork and helped her do it as I had just done mine. She works for Deloitte which processes 1000s of visas a year, not sure if that means that they rush their visas through. Submitted October, granted Jan.

    Hi Folks,

My colleague's 186 visa was lodged in Mid April 2018 and she got her golden email in just 8 months. same occupation as mine (accountant) and DE. Looks like immi people are now on fast track mode. Just giving hopes to people who have applied in March and April. Get ready for grants. Yay!

    Occupation: Accountant
    State: NSW
    Birth Country: India
    Stream: 457 - 186 DE

I imagine you have to inform them if your marital status changed though - this would have an impact on your application? Will they be included on your application or not for example?

No shes Australian and my visa is through work and not through her. I will double check if there is a section for marital status, i couldn't see one?

  15. 1 minute ago, Whites.uk said:

But also remember, you must keep them informed with regards to Passport, name and address changes, or your VISA could be rejected.

I believe they can process this within 5 working days...

    https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/form-listing/forms/929.pdf

I don't think I want to risk anything, if i dont change my name then i wont need to change my passport and i'm not planning on moving any time soon so i think if i just wait till after PR it will be easier?
