  1. We used Anglo Pacific - 20 ft container to Melbourne from Liverpool £3975.

also we have had to pay AUS$525 for a quarantine inspection on top of that when our shipment arrived (left Our house 9/11, arrived 9/1)

sales guy nice but crew that turned up a bit slapdash. They Damaged our leather bedhead and are trying to get us to claim on our insurance.

we didn’t have to dismantle any ikea furniture- they just wrapped it up to protect it.

Hi, how are you getting on with quotes for shipping container?

sorry for putting this on this thread but.....

our house went on the market last week and hopefully will be sold on Monday 😁

so we are looking to leave the UK with our two dogs the first week in April, 🤞

we have had a quote for a 40ft container from PSS , I was going to try Anglo Pacific but some not great recent reviews. Also had a quote from Purdie’s in a Scotland .

threads on here are several years old... unless I’m missing them!

hope your plans are coming along

    Thank you

We used Anglo Pacific - I would not recommend.

bit slapdash, and trying to wiggle out of damage they did to our leather bedhead 😔

Out of complete curiosity - For those that went onshore on another visa to await the outcome of their 309/100, how could you be sure that the 309/100 visa would be granted? We’d ideally like to be in Australia for January 2020 as it suits us time wise, but I’d be emoji51.pngemoji51.pngemoji51.pngemoji51.png hauling the family out there on another visa to find that the 309/100 visa got denied for some technical reason and we’d have to ship back to the U.K.

Is it just a confident gamble you need to be willing to take?

It’s s calculated risk in my eyes. If there is nothing you are in doubt about in your evidence/lives then there should be no reason to decline a visa. It’s just a waiting game.

    Hey,

Yes we struggled with that @Urban_fox we had to put our son down as a child in the first box but tick no he wasn't emigrating with us as he has dual passports and therefore wasnt included in my application..... from what i read at the time it is a case of this is to identify those members of the family emigrating so unfortunately sounds like you will need to fill out the form @LouFerg was referring to. Loads of luck

Come on the November RFIs this week .... lets make this the last Australia day we are all (for those of us still here) in the cold!

In other news we have had John Masons and PSS round and will be starting a thread in the next few days for those of us looking at crates and insurance so anyone with feedback on this it would be great to know esp on costs, experiences and insurance %ages if you don't mind sharing.

Happy Australia Day to us all  🏄‍♀️🍻🏝️🏝️🍻

Let me know when you set up the thread as I would be happy to share our experience.

If your on shore & you get the email to say its going to be granted, how long do you get to leave? Im flying out next week on tourist visa, so just looking at flight prices to NZ & they vary quite a bit in price! Im trying to have a rough idea of extra costs incase my grant doesnt come this week, im praying it does as its looking around £2000 for flights/hotel etc for myself & 3 children xx

They didn’t give us a date to leave by and asked us to email them our travel arrangements when we had made them. It does state to allow 5 days away for grant. The issue is because we want our countdown to my husband working to start ASAP we are limited to whatever fares are available in the next week (school holiday time too!).

it cost us £612 return to go this Saturday for 7 days - but we were lucky to get a cheap return fare (half the price of the flight out)

Amazing, huge congrats! I bet you are super excited, bottle of fizz tonight?

    When/where are you moving?

Also, what further info did they request from you?

We are in Melbourne already (my home town) but it was driving my husband up the wall not knowing when he could work.

do you mean further info back in Nov or now?

    Guess What! You’re right!

We’ve just received the golden email! Our agent has sent through an email last night..always nice to wake up to good news!

It’s all very surreal and still hasn’t sunk in!.. though I’m sure it’s going to get real very quickly! 🙈

We need to make our first entry before the 17th July - hopefully heading to Victoria ..

Thank you all for keeping me sane and keeping our hope up during all this waiting x

Really hoping yours is the next ones to come through xx

    How exiting!!

    Another grant! Great news.

My heart skipped a beat this morning when I woke to an email entitled "Outcome of Application"
It was from the Australian Government, but turned out to be my cats approval grant for their travel emoji23.pngemoji23.png

So that's the Cats and the Mother in Law's RRV sorted. Just waiting for my golden email now!

Yes, my cats’ visa came through months ago and is here with us. Seems it is easier to get my cat into Australia than my husband 😂

    Hi there

I too have been reviewing this forum and it's certainly given me some reassurance that the waiting time is totally normal!

I am an Australian and my husband is a Brit. As friends had been through the application at the start of 2018 and had theirs approved within a few months, we were under the impression we would be moving sooner than it is looking like.

Would be great to be added to the timeline too.

    Applied 309/100 - 4 October 2018

No response as yet, still at stage 1, Received. Have done all the criminal checks, and medical for my husband complete.

We are now contemplating doing the tourist visa as we would ideally like to be out there by May. Any advice on the tourist visa would be appreciated!

Fingers crossed for more grant news soon.

My husband is here with me on a tourist visa. Sailed through the airport with it (automated passport checks). Authorities don’t seem to be bothered by it as long as you don’t work. It was even suggested when I rang the government department last year.

  10. Hi,

I have been watching your posts but felt it was time to join in as there is nothing else to do whilst we sit here and wait!

I am Australian and have been married to my husband for 9 years in March (married in Australia 2010). We applied for his Spouse visa (309/100) 21/4/2018 from the UK and made arrangements to be here for my Mum's 70th birthday in November (arrived in Australia 16/11/18).  As we got close we applied for a tourist visa for him, but I was convinced the Spousal visa would come through before we left.  We had a further information request for UK police check and questions about my previous marriage on 29/10/18 and replied 5/11/18.  Nothing since then!

My husband is going round the bend not working - hope it comes through soon!
