We just got the email. Husband’s 309 has been approved - date of entry is August 2 - which has knocked us both over as we were not anticipating having to enter the country so quickly! Still processing but wanted to share for all other November applicants x

Congrats! We applied November 15th everything front loaded and also had medical uploaded on the 26th November so hoping it shouldn't be too long for us now either!

  2. Hi guys,

Have been so busy recently so haven’t been on the thread in a while. Thrilled to see all of the grants congratulations to everyone!

I applied 15th November (dates in signature) so I can only hope and assume that I may hear something within the next couple of months.

My partner and I are actually heading to Australia on the 18th April for a 4 week holiday to catch up with her family and be there for the birth of her goddaughter.

I’m pretty sure I know the answer but just for my sanity I wanted to ask. If by some miracle my visa is approved while we are in Australia, am I able to just nip to NZ and return to Australia to activate the new Visa. Or will there be a problem?

Thanks guys I am hoping we are getting close to some contact, have had nothing so far. Police checks and medicals were uploaded within 2 weeks of application.

  3. Hi guys,

Quick question with regards to AFP checks. I am the applicant and I lived in Australia on a 417 WHV for around 10 months in 2017. I was wondering if any knows if they will ask me to complete an Australian police check. I know I haven't lived there for over 12 months, but I have been back to Visit a few times on tourist Visa so my total time in Australia will have exceeded 12 months by now.

Not sure if it's worth getting an AFP check done now in preparation for them to ask me for it in an RFI. That way ill have it ready.

    Thanks

Welcome to the waiting lounge @Urban_Fox

Long service members will notice I've now started to refer to it as the "lounge" rather than the "room"- simply because we've been here a while so i think lounge feels more homely.  Although I hope to be let out on good behaviour in the near future!

Sloooooow progress this week - its absolute torture!  I just want to get back into work!! Here's an update on current state of play 🙂

I'm poised - waiting to colour in more blocks of green...

CEP you are a legend for doing this. Having a visual on how the Visas are going is amazing! Would you be kind enough to add us to your spreadsheet?

Our story is pretty simple so far - applied on the 15th November and no contact since.

Best of luck to everyone else for their Visas!

  5. Hi all,

Still nothing heard on our part for Visa, still says on the Immi website ‘recieved’. Although we did only apply on the 15th November so only been a couple of months. Medical for applicant and police checks for both applicant and sponsor uploaded straight away as well, so hopefully won’t be too long until we hear anything.

Quick question though, how long on average did it take people to get some sort of contact from Immi regarding their application?

Congrats to everyone who has received their Visas!

  6. Hey guys!

So I had my medicals in Knightsbridge last Saturday and it was actually not a bad experience at all. They were uploaded to Immi today and it says that no further action is required which I am assuming is good news!

    Timeline so far is:

15/11/2018 applied front loaded with evidence and police checks for applicant and sponsor.

    01/12/2018 medical in Knightsbridge completed.

06/12/2018 medical uploaded to Immi with no further action required.

Think its the long wait which many of you have been through for us now! I'm praying it's a speedy one as we would like to be in Australia for June next year!

Just a quick question, we would like to keep uploading further evidence to our application each month to prove it is continuing. What sort of things do you guys recommend uploading?

    Hi Samie97,

I'm in a similar situation. (Long time lurker here posting for the first time..hello everyone :))

I'm flying to Australia next week mid-week, and since I heard back from Case Officer yesterday requesting more info (which I uploaded same day 21st Nov), I was planning on waiting until the day before my flight before I have to apply for the eVisa 651 in a vain hope that it gets approved in between. But after reading your post I'm a little anxious now as to whether I should just apply for the eVisa ASAP or not!

Question: If I travel to Australia on tourist eVisa 651 and I get the 309/100 approval over there, will I be able to activate it if I book a same day flight out/in e.g. to NZ? i.e. If I do that, will the border control activate it when I do my trip back from NZ and ignore my eVisa?

DoL: 17th June 2018 (Front Loaded)
    Medical check completed: July 2018
Request for further information by Case Officer: 21st Nov 2018

    Hi 🙂

It's a strange one because I have applied for a visitor Visa in the past and it got approved almost instantly. Although this time is different for obvious reasons as I have submitted my application for Partner Visa.

I would advise maybe doing it before the day before your flight though just to safeguard yourself because mine still hasn't been approved and its been 3 working days now.

Let us know what you decide and good luck with the Visa 🙂

I have no idea what's happening here.

I've got my name with a drop down menu which is where I upload all of the docs. I've then got my wife's (sponsor) name and a drop down for docs for her part including the 40sp form for her to fill in. This form has a 'where have you lived in the last 10 years question'.  Isn't this the same thing?

Are you saying that my wife should have her own immi account? I get the impression that things are changing lots at the moment with the updates. Could this be the case or am I missing a really big section?

My partner has her own Immi account. When I submitted my application I was given a transaction number and my partner applied for a 'sponsor' application on her account. You put the transaction number your application in the required field and it links the two applications together.

It doesn't take too long to do at all, to be honest. The only additional information it asks for is your wifes travelk details for the last 10 years.

  9. Does anyone have any experience of applying for a tourist Visa while waiting for the partner Visa to get approved?

I applied for a tourist Visa about 3 days ago so my partner and I can travel back to Sydney over Christmas and New Years to visit her family and return to the UK after about 3 weeks, but the application is still just saying 'received'. It's been 3 days and I'm starting to worry because on Immi it says it should take 1 day to approve it.

I have applied for a tourist visa before and it got approved instantly so not sure what the hold up is...

They take blood too. Not sure if you know but you don’t actually see your results. You’ll be able to see on your immi account that the results are back and if all ok it tells you no further action is required. Women over 40 have a breast examination too but for some reason I didn’t have this, no idea why!

Ah ok,  I've always been fit and healthy at a good weight with no health problems so I'm optimistic that everything will go smoothly! How long after did you see the results uploaded to immi just out of interest?

Wow ... I also went to Knightsbridge the receptionist was lovely on the phone and in person ..... must have hit a good day.
The doctor was really nice tho and radiologist was sweet when I was looking at my chest x-ray (it's not everyday you see inside yourself)
Hopefully it's a quick and painless experience for you

Hope I hit a good day as well then haha! What tests do they actually perform on the day? Is it just an all-round health check or are they looking for any particulars? I have been healthy all my life and never had any serious health problems, although I am a very light smoker (5 a day max) so I'm hoping that has no impact on the medicals or my visa!

  12. Hi everyone,

Submitted my application along with all evidence and UK police checks front-loaded on the 15th November. Just booked in my medicals for the 1st December to get them done. Do you guys think it's worth uploading the confirmation of my medicals being booked in, or is it best to just leave anything to do with the medicals until I have completed them and got the results?

Let me know, thanks for the help!

Fingers crossed! As laf mentioned re the medicals, once you download the HAP ID form, you can call up and book your appointment using the ID. Only takes a few days to get an appointment :).

Perfect thanks guys!! Really trying to get there by June so want to get everything done (ie medicals) as soon as possible to avoid any delays. Good that it's only taking a few days to get medicals done as I read before that there were lengthy delays even to get them done!

We’ve also just submitted at the end of October and just completed medicals. I’m expecting that they won’t get to our applications until Mar/Apr next year at the absolute earliest...

All this Brexit chaos makes me hope it’s sooner rather than later though!

Let’s pray that the applications are speeding up! Me and my partner our hopeful that we can get to Sydney before my birthday in June so we are keeping our fingers crossed!

Just out of interest did you have to phone up to book medicals?

I know this brexit stuff is chaos!

  15. Hey everyone!

My partner and I just submitted our visa yesterday! Applied with police checks and just booked medicals in too. Was such a stressful process but so glad it is all done now. Now it's a waiting game! Has anyone been waiting for an extensive period of time recently?  I'm hoping they are pushing the London Visas through quickly at the moment!
