Exciting times.
Getting a job is high on my priority list. But think I will be registering with the the recruitment agencies like hayes, Michael page etc to get them on their ex pat books to arrange interviews or at least temp work for when we land.Alas due to my job I require quite a few checks which can only be done in country, so agencies are keen but said they can’t do anything until I get them done.

Hi all,
I'm sure there will be a flurry of activity soon. It took a year to get my visa and it was deadly silent for nearly three months before, then there seemed to be several a day for weeks after. I was one of the last to get it amongst people who applied at the same time.
As for me I have 8 days left in the UK, missus and daughter already in Sydney. I still need to get a bloody job.
Fly out on the 23rd, have to be in country before end of the month.
Good luck all.

@SydneyBound I arrived in perth at the end of october, then on to Brissy in January....boy did I bake.... the humidity!!!! Jeepers!!!
Generally I'm finding things ok - I've been in work for about 6/7 weeks now but and they've been very welcoming Didn't find it too difficult getting work at all, I was pretty chuffed I got this one though! I'd really like to start making a conscious effort to make some friends. As we dont have children, I think you can miss out on just chatting with other mums etc... My partner doesnt have any family in Brissy either so I can feel a little isolated when he goes off doing boy things... Anyway I've managed to sign up to a singing group on thursdays - this week will be my first time.... wish me luck!!!
Just read through all the posts and updated spreadsheet hang on in there guys..... it will happen.... it was the most stressful thing and I lost so much sleep over it but you''ll just want to bottle up the feeling when the golden email arrives
The baking thing ain’t so bad, try being rained on for weeks on end. Ha.
Good news about the job, it’s one of my big worries but I’m sure it’ll be fine. I shall be in he same boat as you on regards to family, my partner is the Aussie. She starts work four days after arriving, I shall be pottering around until I sort something out.
Lots to do before then though, the list is endless.

@Cuddles200 Its going really well thanks! Settling into the job and everyday life while in the back of my mind thinking about the 820/801 we'll have to prepare and submit after we get married - eeeeek!!!
I've added the little instruction sheet I prepared for adding signatures to posts.... It's not the most obvious on this site!
Hope everyone is doing well, I'm about to read through the posts - looking forward to good news galore!!xx
Excellent news!
How are are you finding the change? And was work difficult to obtain/accreditation?
Daughter and missus fly out in five weeks, I join them five weeks later as I have to finish a work contract.

Good luck all! I’ve finally booked my flights, partner going out early to take a govt job. I shall be heading to Sydney a month later, arrive end of July. Now to sort a job, as Sydney is not cheap!

Good luck to those waiting for news. My move to Sydney is planned, July entry. Now but to do the million things needed to be done before we move.

That number is as useful as a chocolate teapot IMO. They can only direct you around the website.
This email is for applicants who hold the 309 already so they may be able to help! It's an onshore centre so the assumption is you may need to be in Australia going through then next step, but they will tell you if they can't assist !
qld.pp.processing@border.gov.auThanks for that, looks like I might have to go the long way around.

Called them, they have no clue. Pfft... anyone know how to directly contact CO?

Yay, an aussie number. Looks like I shall have to use the missus phone. She has reduced international calls.

Can you reply to your grant email? Or call the helpline.
Grant email is auto response so not an option. There is a helpline?! Anyone got the number?

I read somewhere on this forum before that if they only grant the 309 and you challenge this based on the 3 year rule, they should correct this and send through a 100.
Just tedious to have to chase but congrats on the initial grant...
I may have to do that, which is rubbish. Anyone know how to contact a CO?

The 100 grant for us arrived a couple of minutes after the 309.
Let’s hope mine is the same, should be. We’ve been together nearly 4 years and have a daughter. Not sure what option is if they only give me 309z

Hello all,
Seems things are moving along.
Some good news!
I just recieved my 309, how long did you have to wait for notification of 100 after that?

Congrats all those who have been granted!
I seem to be all back of the bus at the moment, applied early June, two RFI and still waiting. I don’t know why the needed proof of my partners British citizenship, I’m the Brit, she’s the Aussie. That’s slowed us down it seems.
I sent the info info last month and still heard nothing.
No rhyme nor reason behind it all.

Hi All,
Looks like a few people have had some great news of late, very happy for you all.
We're patiently waiting for a CO (I think) - we lodged my application on 26th November 2018 - I did the medical shortly afterwards and had a shock T2 Diabetes diagnosis...Not the best start, anyway, I've smashed 3 stone off since December so that's all under control and hoping to get the all-clear next month (I say all clear - what that means is that my blood sugar is now at a normal level).
Anyway, that aside, I wanted to ask about my wife (I'm the applicant - wife has citizenship but has lived in the UK for 22 yrs, we've been together 17 years, married for 5 and have a 1&3yr old who both have citizenship by descent). We've completed and attached the 40SP Form - Partner Sponsorship along with a few other docs - Bit that's through my Immi account.
Should my wife also create her own Immi Account?
Will my wife need to get an Australian Police Check? (Even though she only lived there from Age 9 - 18 yrs old?
And finally, should I apply for my UK Police check and pre-load or do most wait until asked?
We'll be moving to Adelaide at some point this year we hope to be with my wife's family....Although it doesn't seem real yet.
Thanks all
Hi mate,
congrats on the weight loss, though sucks about the diabetes!
your wife will need a police check, it’s quick as the AFP seem to be switched on.
In the end my partner opened her own immi account and completed the docs required through there, seemed to make it easier.

Hi all,
just came across this forum and thank god I did. I applied 22nd 0ctover 2018 for 309/100. I haven’t heard anything back but looks like none of the October’s have. I have uploaded everything apart from police checks as I have been speaking to a solicitor about a caution. I have put I don’t have any convictions as I was told a caution is not a conviction. Does anyone know if I had to declare it? Afraid that because I didn’t mention it I may get rejected.
Thanks.
Hi, declare it. Be honest, put it under corrections tab in account. If you don’t it will look pretty bad.

Hey@TanC7 ... had PSS and John Masons out so far ... Anglo Pac and Picfords toms if the snow holds off then will let u know and start a thread... class of 2018 moves from visa to movers area!!!!
Really liked the PSS guy he was very disarming ..... we will see ... looking like a 20ft for us ..... maybe avoid AP after@Bob Marley experience!
Yeh our house should be listing in the next few days too .... we are looking at July tho .....
All crossed we all sell quicklyWhat level of quotes were discussed? I’m not taking much, as we have a furnished apartment to move into to start off with. It’s more personal stuff, which would take up the space in the back of a transit van, but getting an idea of cost would be wise.

Hi @LottyC
I went into a panic when I read this thinking, like you are, that maybe we should have replied to the email! But I have just re-checked our RFI, and it states:
So i am satisfied that uploading the documents via the Immi account then clicking the "grey button" to confirm you have provided what they asked for is the correct way. It makes sense, as it keeps it all transparent in case another case officer has to pick it up I suppose?
Deep breaths...
Mine doesn’t have that sentence! I did both. Ha ha

@SydneyBound i uploaded onto my immi account, then theres a grey box at the bottom to say your submitting the correct info, cant think how its worded now xx
Were you asked to quote a name and position number?

Morning all,
I woke up to another RFI, need my ex to redo the consent form for 2 of my children as they said his signature doesnt match his passport & licence!
Fingers crossed thats all they can pull me for xx
You’re in the same boat as I am, that’s a bit rubbish. By what method did you respond?
-
5 minutes ago, mia.oh.my said:
I just responded to the email. But I haven't heard back yet so who knows if this method works!
When did you respond?
I responded via email and got two emails in return, one saying they deleted the email without reading and one saying it would be processed. What the hell?!
i also uploaded on immi and provided cover letter.
-
Update:
I had a second RFI and managed to get required info, I have been given a name and position number to respond to, but no clue how to do so. Do I respond to email? Do I upload, though the letter expressly says to that person quoting their details.
The letter is so ambiguous!
argh!!!

No, your visa is linked to your passport and is automatically activated when you enter Australia. I’ve been here two weeks ^^
