Hi
Can anyone confirm this for me.
I've come over on a 190 visa as a general electrician and a friend of ours on a 489 as a carpenter.
He seems to think that he has to work as a carpenter here or is visa will be provoked.
Is this right as I can't see it being the case due to people struggling to find work and then have to take any job to get by etc.
Look forward to your replies.
Thanks

Basic all over body check, ie weight, height, blood pressure (I think) eye test etcWhat was involved in the medical ?
Urine example
Chest x-rays
And me and my wife just to have blood tests.
If I can remember anything else I will let you know. It was only in January but it's been like a whirlwind lol.

Hi mate. Thanks mate that takes a lot of stress off my shoulders. My EOI will be logged shortly just gathering all my documents for the application at present. Are you in Aus now? What state have you gone for?
I go in 4 weeks time and heading to Adelaide.
Nerves kicking in now but imagine that's normal lol.
Where are you heading to?
It's a nice feeling when all your documents are sent and finally get a invite. It's just the long wait for the grant then though.- 1

Hi mate.
I hope you right [emoji2359] given the fact that my wife also has a skill on the shortage list and we will be taking our two children maybe we would be the likely candidates [emoji1694] see how it goes, I’m still going to keep ploughing on with the English just to boost the points if necessary.
I was accepted with 65 points last December. Have since had my visa granted on 2nd July 2019.
My application was for a 190 with a wife and 3 children also.
Like laver has said, when it comes to the 190 visa I don't think it's necessarily down to points total it's a combination of everything else attached to the application like profession, who else is going over, character etc.
Good luck and hope it all works out for you.- 1

I used the down under centre and agree they were very good with helping.Check out the Down Under Centre in Ealing. They are very friendly and help a lot of electricians move to Australia. Wes, who runs it, was an electrician from Oz.

One thing though Wes was a plumber in Oz and loves to banter with sparks about which trade is better.
Good luck -
Hi.Yeah I realised that I needed to contact them individually but just wanted to find out before calling around whether anyone already knew about the weekend appointment likelihood.
For anyone else wanting to know this information... Manchester do not offer weekend appointments.
We had a weekend appointment in Sutton Coldfield.
A family of 5, we arrived at 9am and out by 11:30am.
Cheers- 1

Hi Jessica.I work with skilled migrants as an independent voice on the realities of them finding work in Adelaide, what that would involve and how to approach it. Some people choose to meet with me when they are over on a reccie to get the information before they make the move over (or decide not too!) and some meet me when they have already moved here. Migrants often make the assumption because they are on a skills list, their job/skills must be in demand which is a fair enough assessment but sometimes this is not the case. I've met people who have attended events in the UK who have been given, in my opinion, widely exaggerated information on the availability of jobs in Adelaide and the salaries they would earn.
Could you please tell me what the demand is like for electricians over in Adelaide.
I'm aware I will need to cover the gap training etc.
Many thanks

I maybe wrong as don't know much to do with immigration but I can't see how an assessor who works on behalf of vetassess would know this info.Hi again all,I talked to an agent for some advice on my failed Vetassess and he explained why he thought it failed. Which is annoying as the reasons are not stipulated on the vetassess website but I understood where he was coming from. So I have written a review letter and paid for the decision to be reviewed. Hopefully they will change their minds but it is still a 50/50, or maybe 70/30 for a rejection as he said the role is very hard to get a positive assessment.
Anyway why I am posting, I mentioned you guys and the wait to him and he said the number of SA applications is huge and they have pretty much used up the allocation for this year so until the new year (July) everything will slow right down. Nothing saying he is right just thought I would share.
Reason be most of us have registered agents and even they don't know or can shed a light on it.
Sorry read it wrong. Was an agent who said it to you.

They've started looking at December lodgements.

Hi.Hi Guys
Wonder if anyone can help. I want to do the Vetassess General Electrician 341111 assessment and need to find out if anyone in the forum can assist with what to expect in the practical assessment.
Im worried my technical experience may not be enough. I have a diploma in electrical engineering. I would like to prepare adequately that once I register I'm competent in what is tested.
Look forward to any advice you can offer.
I sat mine in October with future skills, who are based in London.
I can explain what process I had to carry out with them but don't know if it will send you off track as I dont know what is involved with vetassess.
Thanks -
Cheers Jimbo.Fingers crossed for you mate
I've taken on your advise also, my kids would be the same sat waiting for an hour lol. Glad it's all progressing well over there mate.

Hi.
Just to add on to what curly has wrote.
The gap training has all changed now. Infact I'm doing it as we speak and our class are the guinea pigs.
I can provide you with all info but it may take a while lol.
Inbox me if interested in knowing the new course info.
Cheers.
