    Congrats! You`re almost there.

Just curious, does the CO ask for the newest training evidence or the past year`s? Because you applied in July 2018, the documents should be updated I think.

    Thanks!

Thanks. To be honest I don't know, I asked my migration agent if the nomination was approved and she said there had been some documents requested. One if which was training expenditure evidence.

I'm trying not to get over excited as I've seen people wait ages after getting requests for documents.

  2. Just got a request for information:

    From the company:

    Evidence of training expenditure

    Bas statements

    Updated financial

    For me and my wife

    Health check and afp

Status is still received. Don't know how to add a signature, but I'm in the spreadsheet, applied July 26th engineering professional, name cb.

Nice to see it moving hopefully Visa and nomination will be granted this month.

Ya, I have checked the site. It shows 16 to 19 month, but for some applicants,  got the PR within 8-10 months.

Think the issue is that this isn't an average time that immigration quote. It's time to process 75% and 90% of applications.

Most cases get processed quicker, probably in that 8-10 month period (say 50-60%), but more complicated applications, incomplete ones, and certain occupations seem to take longer.

See an email from my MA

Like how honest your MA was. I asked the same question and got a much tamer answer that hinted at this but didn't outright say it.

Problem is this policy seems to be working with voters, same with the nonsense around citizenship, they have people believing that you can get it after 1 year in Australia as a PR. They always forget to mention that you have to be in the country for 4 years with 1 year PR.

Hopefully, they have slowed it down enough now and keep the same levels so the wait times stop increasing.

With the new timelines, it's going to be interesting to see how and if the procedures change (for both visas).

As far as I'm aware, you cannot lodge a visa application without vital documents (i.e. Police clearances / english tests etc.).

A PCC is only valid for 12 months - as is a medical. So does that mean that the policies are going to change in that you are allowed to lodge without these documents, or that case officers will have to accept expired documentation.

Alternatively, they could simply keep requesting updated / valid documents, and extend the process even more.

Not sure on English test but I've lodged my application without medicals or police clearance. My MA advised you can submit these later to ensure they're up to date when your file is processed.

For 186, after the grant visa you are allowed to leave the workplace if your employer’s curcumstances changed such as shut down. And you proved that you had intension to continue even after visa grant. These are all intension though not legal requirements for 186.

For 187 is literally different. Here after your visa grant you have to continue next 2 years for the same employer.

Do not mix with 186 with 187 visa condition please.

This sounds correct, MA said to me it's only a moral condition to stay with the employer for two years on a 186, work also asked me to sign a contact that I would replay if I left within a year for the MA fees (think they've been bitten in the past), seemed fair.

Happy to stay with them though so signed it the second they presented it.

  7. Hi guys,

Have only been following this since July when I lodge my visa, do people see a trend of an increase in approval since Dutton was removed from office or am I just being hopeful? Seems like a lot more people are being approved the last two weeks?

Had hoped to have it by Christmas but think that is wishful thinking! Antedotally I've heard they slow down in an election year, hence why I was hoping for pre christmas!

Hi everybody, I got the golden email as well! A few visas from January applications have been approved today.

    My details

Nomination lodged on the 9th of Jan 2018

Application lodged on the 10th of jan 2018

Nomination and application both approved on the 30th of August 2018

LR country, 186 DE, Web designer.

    No further documentation requested.

I couldn't believe my eyes, it feels great. Good luck everybody, I really hope you can get your PR soon.

Wow, few through today that's great, congratulations.

Any chance Coleman has told the department to stop sitting on their hands?

This gives me a hope that the proposed changes to citizenship law won't be accepted. Especially the proposal to increase the period with PR from one to four years.

That's my hope as well, also hoping they stop the go slow that they've clearly been doing in the immigration department processing visas and citizenship under dutton.

Way I see it, he removed immigration from dutton for a reason, hopefully because he didn't like how dutton was distorting the numbers by simple processing fewer visas and putting more people onto bridging visas for longer time periods.

Although I did see a few comments that Coleman was given a ministry to raise his profile because he's in a marginal seat. So there could be no change at all, it's hard to tell at this point as Coleman has always voted the party line and is pretty low key so his personal views is hard to gauge!

    ELECTION IS COMING!

Have thought that for the last 12 months, seems closer to one now, but they may manage to limp on, reckon labour will win it easy at the moment so can't see Turnbull calling an early election.

Do you think things will be that different under labour?
