    WOW 😬😬

This is ridiculous. As far as I am concerned we are meeting our end of the bargain. We will have satisfied the visa requirements twice over by the time they grant residency. So we are meant to just put our lives on hold??????????

We want to make a life for ourselves in this beautiful country. We are all hard working, tax paying residents, abiding by the rules, respecting the country, bending over backwards, paying heaps of money. It's a kick to the guts that they treat us like this.

Yes, I know how you feel... And yes, my life has been "on hold" for a while now, it is extremely frustrating - can't get a job I want, can't buy a house, can't go back to see my parents in Russia... 😞  My friends are delaying having a baby (!!!) because of this wait, they are too scared of additional months wait when you add a baby to your application. Not much we can do, but wait.

Sorry not replying but asking same question.

    Hi All,

We applied for 887 on 01/07/2018, still the status is Received.Any Idea how long does it take for immigration to assign CO.

Any leads will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

I believe they do not assign COs these days, your application is picked up by any available CO from the team and then placed back in the pile until next time, unless you get a direct grant. 🙂

The COs are not picking up new files at the moment, but the last files to have been picked up were of January/February 2018 applicants. So it seems you have a bit of a wait ahead of you..🙂

Look at this statistics, this may help you gauge:

You can add your name and dates on this tracker, if you wish. 🙂

Guys I had applied for 887 Visa on 28th Nov 2017. Case officer asked for all the documents (repeat documents) again on 18th May 2018 including wife's English language ability score which we provided asap. Case officer again asked for some more documents on 1st Aug 2018 (this time just further documents to support residency in regional area). I provided everything I had related to residency in regional area the next day. And from that day till now (5th Feb 2019) there is no communication/update from case officer. Have called migration plenty of times and the response from them was that I just need to wait. can't do anything else. I have also sent follow up emails couple of times but there is no response from case officer. Wonder what has happened.!!

Any suggestions what I should do in this case..?? I am processing this through MARA agent but he also suggests me to wait...

Hi @Riz, I applied for 887 in September 2017, it has now been almost 17 months since my application date, so I can understand your frustration. 🙂 I got a few requests from immigration for additional documents, and I submitted them all. Now I hired a lawyer to help me with communication with the Department. But even the lawyer suggests that I just wait. He asked me not to complain or call them any more but wait.

However, I know a few people from another forum who received their grants shortly after submitting complaints.

So, not sure what to suggest here, apart from: "just wait"? 🙂

    My friends didn't.

As a primary applicant I haven't been asked to do the IELTS again but on my immiaccount they recommend that my husband updates his proof of english via IELTS so time will tell 🙂

Yes, primary applicant do not need IELTS, but dependant does. 🙂

    Hi guys,

do we need to submit English Language test again to apply 887 visa . If so whats the score require

IELTS score required is minimum 4.5 in each category. Yes, you need a new IELTS exam for secondary applicant for 887 visa application. 🙂 Alternatively, you can submit academic study evidence, or PTE test, or you can just pay additional fee for not having to prove English ability. 🙂

    Hi guys,

I am really confused and hope someone can help me.

I started a new application for an 887 residency visa through my immiaccount. However, I have gotten to the end of the questions and the only option left for me to do is to submit the application.

Great, I hear you say...however, at no stage whatsoever have I been prompted to add supporting documentation such as proof of address, proof of work, identity etc etc. My friend applied for her residency 4 months ago and said she was prompted throughout to add supporting documentation. She also said she had warnings before she started that she should ensure she has all her supporting documentation ready and that if it was not attached her application would face delays. I have had non of these warnings.

If I click submit, will I then be prompted to attach documents?? I am worried that if I click submit, that will be it, but then there will not be evidence for my case.

Thanks in advance for your help

PS I have signed the petition.

Hello @Cazwilkins! This is how it works, you click on 'submit', pay, and then for maybe a few hours you will still not be prompted to add your evidence, there probably even be a message "No documents required at this stage for this application", or something. It is weird, but don't panic.

Just submit your application, then you will get the option to attach evidence. Just attach everything you need to methodically, don't rush. If you forgot something, simply attach that additional info as soon as you remember. Remember that you can attach documents all the way until the day your file is picked up for assessment. 🙂 🙂 So please don't worry! We all have been there. 😉

Thanks cherries for reply, i dont have bank statements becoz account has been closed . I got Pay G summaries for 3 years and some payslips. Its been long time so i havent keep it. I got employment reference letter from employer. Will be that ok.

If you could possibly find the rest of payslips to cover a full year of full-time employment, this will be great. 🙂 Does employer's letter mention that you work 35+ hours per week?

Last week I lodged a complaint against Immigration department for processing times.

Within a week we received our Visa grants !!!!!!!!

    Hi @Cherries, congratulations!!! 🙂

I launched mine last Monday,  but I am still waiting... I have a bad feeling that it may not work for me as well as it works for other forum members, because of my country of origin. 😞 I will still try to launch another complaint soon. 🙂  Need to keep fighting.

    Hi All,
We entered Australia in 2016 on 489 visa, we met the requirements for PR hence applied for 887 visa by August 2018.We are expecting baby by December in India. Shall we add baby in 887 application. In what visa shall we bring the baby to Australia, as all the applicants should be inside Australia while 887 application is in progress.

    Hoping for a response.

Hi @Tony George, I cannot help you personally, but we have a group of 887 applicants who had babies while waiting for 887. Please join this thread and you can just ask your question to our group, someone will have an answer for you 🙂

I thought bridging visa is as good as PR. Isnt medicare applicable during that time?

Medicare is the only benefit you get on a bridging visa, nothing else. 🙂  So bridging visa is good for a short time, but when it becomes months and months - it is very daunting. 🙂

    Dear Team Members,

I happy to have found this forum to get insights before applying for 887.

I need a few clarifications if you all could help me with it. I just drafted them here so if kind members can share their input please.

    1. I have new born baby born in Adelaide 6 months ago, does she have to go through medical when I apply for 887?

    2. Can moving interstate after completing 2 years in Adelaide after completing 2 years residence requirement and more than 1 year of work cause a problem?

         - Has someone moved interstate while being on 489 and after apply for 887?

    3. Do I need to get new Police clearance even though I submitted  while applying for 489 and I didn't go back to all those countries again?

    4. after applying for 887 are we eligible for medicare?

Would appreciate if someone can guide me on these points so I can make arrangements accordingly.

    Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi @Tawki, for question 3 is yes, most likely. Just renew all police clearances to be on the safe sade, case officers will ask for fresh onces. For question 4 - yes! 🙂

Please join our community on this forum, the guys will be able to advise you regarding first two questions. A lot of them were in same situation with newborn babies. 🙂

    Hi all,

We lodged for permanent residency from the 489 to a Subclass 887 visa on the 9th Jan. Status for the processing times keeps changing and has extended no to 9-12 months. From experience does this mean we would still be within 9-12 months or would we go from the original time quoted of about 4-6 months??? so frustrating with the timeline keep changing.

Interested to hear from anyone else still waiting on this visa

    Hi Cherries,

Some nice person set up a spreadsheet tracker for 887 applicants, and it shows application dates, case officer contact dates and grant dates, basically, timelines. ?

You can find it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ApeHDAjEH60WFBNLeq14wvGzegiqGC4KD0U-OyH_w6U/edit#gid=0

You will notice that for some people it take under 3 months to get a grant and for some over 11 months. There is no blanket rule.

Please feel free to share this tracker with others, fill your own details in the tracker - it is free for everyone to use and edit. ?

And this is the link to another forum thread you may find useful:
