    Morning all,

I know a couple of you have moved over to Oz to wait for your grants to come through. This is something myself & husband have toyed with, now we have decided to move in January. How do I notify Immi?

We applied in August for visa for myself & 3 children, husband is PR. He has now been offered a job, they know the situation & are happy to wait, but would like him there to start between 21-28th January. We have decided to fly 21st Jan on tourist visa, then go to New Zealand when the visas are due to be granted. The way things are moving, im actually hopeful that we may have them granted before we leave.

Any advice would be gratefully received xx

    Hey

That's exciting!  It's worked for us so far but I don't know what advice I can give.  I applied on a 600 tourist visa to give me 12 months so that there is time for the offshore visa to come through.  I think my agent just updated my address and number on Immi which would obviously then be Australian.  As I have an agent I don't really know the specifics on how else to do it.  Perhaps an email?

    Sorry not much help!

So happy to find this website and thread. Late evening mad searches for other people who are in the same family position as us.....

I'm British, husband is Aussie - together for 10 years, married for 7 and 2 kids (sounds like the usual format) and currently living in the UK. Applied in June and done the medical (wrongly got very excited that are application was being expedited as it was asked for immediately) and had zero communication since.

Happy to hear that I can still head over to Australia on a tourist visa with the family (my kids and hubbie all have Aussie visas) and I just won't be able to work as we want to enrol our daughter into school in February. I thought that I may get stuck here in the UK on my own!

Our best friends applied last July and got approved in September so frustrated like all of you that 2018 is the year for slooow progress.

Good luck to everyone else and hope to hear good news from you all soon!

    Welcome! You're in good company.

    Hi guys,

We have just had a request for information - police certificates. Ours was front loaded however my husband has a few things on his police record - one of which occurred in Portugal whilst on holiday so they have requested a Portuguese police check and we also submitted a police check for NZ because he knew he had a DUI so they have asked for an up to date NZ police check too. They've also asked for an Aus Police check which makes sense given the circumstances. So we have a bit of work to do to get it all done and submitted within the 28 days but it's positive to know that things are progressing!

Great news. I hope you'll get approved quickly once you send the info in.

Have you submitted any updated documents since you applied?  I haven;t seen the need as we have been married 12 years and nothing has changed apart from my stress levels!

I have submitted more because we've moved to Australia. So far just photos of us with the family. I'm thinking of doing a statement from family that they are supportive of us and a bank statement showing my husband still financially supports me. My agent says no need though so 🤷

How do you know if you got grade B?  Mine says "Health Clearance provided - no action required" so I assume that is all done and dusted.

    Hi

I got an email asking me to go for further assessment and somewhere it said grade b. That happened within two weeks of submitting my health check so im sure that means you're fine.

Edit - thinking back I think the medical report got screened by Bupa and they flagged need for more checks. Immi must use them to screen so it's already for when a case worker picks it up.

    Hope that helps

  6. I've been trawling forums all night driving myself crazy about when these visas may come in.

Did anyone get grade b on their medical and have to go for extra health checks? I did and I submitted a full report which should be fine but it's made me worried my case will be judged complex or something and over looked. I have a mild auto immune condition fully managed by meds and my rheumatologist wrote a letter confirming this and that I'm not expected to have any relapse so I think I'm worrying about nothing again.

It was almost easier when nothing was happening as it made me not think about it but now I know grants are occuring it's somehow made me more anxious!!

Hi All, exciting news, just had my 309 and 100 granted. Applied 2nd of April, without an agent. Request for sponsors UK and Australian police checks on 9th October, received and uploaded 20th...granted today. I hope this gives some hope to all others still waiting. It’s a relief to have the email and to be able to focus on something else. Fingers crossed you all get your grants soon and you can start making plans for the future....congratulations too to those who have also recently had their grants x emoji4.png

    Many congrats!!

That's two now on here? One from April and one June.  That's really positive!!

Thank you.  We just got an email. There was nothing to say it was in review or anything. It was just appearing as submitted 2 days ago and then today we had the visas granted. I'm as surprised as everyone else!

We will be moving to the Sunshine Coast. We have until next July to validate, but will be moving within the month as we are expecting our second child and would like to travel before the third trimester.

I hope you get some good news soon 🙂

    Thanks so much!

Such wonderful news. I can imagine the excitement when you received the email!

Have a safe trip and good luck for no 2!

Fingers crossed London is starting to move on things. Must say although I was excited to read about the last few grants, the fact they're after we lodged is a little distressing...trying to remain positive, though (still!). There are times when I find this whole process utterly disheartening - just keep hoping that our application is on a different pile to those that have already been granted and that there isn't an issue with ours.

Try to be positive. I know it is so so hard I don't think it indicates an issue. Some have been asked for things where there is an issue such as sp form and police checks missing too so it all suggests they are just working through them.

I guess it depends if your application was decision ready or not, I don't see why if it was it should be any slower because you didn't get a request.

In other news, I see the processing time has dropped to 14-16 months today ? I do like being right, I said it would drop again and there had been year end shenanigans.

Amazing!  I’m so happy your right!

next stop we start getting decisions!!  I’m off to Melbourne next week to wait over there. I’ve got a 12 month visa and now it seems I may get a decision within that time. Fingers crossed and all that!

Hi, so we received our 309/100 both on 9th August:)). It was about 4 months since we submitted last requested files and 6 months total since signing up.

Our grant says For first entry arrive by 21 March 2018. Must not arrive after 23rd August 2023.

    Can anyone confirm....

Does this mean we must by in Oz before 21 March 2018 or does it mean arrive between those dates?

Hubby and I are both a bit confused by the wording.

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Hi. Sorry can I ask when you say “last requested files” do you mean a case worker asked for further info? So you already had a caseworker at that point? Or do you mean that you’d only justtkt around to submitting all your evidence 4 months ago

sorry to question there’s quite a few of us anxiously waiting from applying in March and April and any info helps!

many congrats!! What part are you moving to?

  13. So I’ve tried to frontload my case which seems we all have done. we’ve uploaded evidence and police checks and medical.

I then got an email requesting a further medical as I have a condition and I’ve had to see a rheumatologist to confirm I’m not going to be a burden etc etc.

I think this is not a case worker though. I think if you get a grade B medical it goes to Bupa who assess on behalf of IMMI what further questions are required.

Anyhow I did that medical today so once that’s uploaded I think that’s it and it’ll just be waiting for us.

I’m hopeful For a decision within 12 months of applying. No reason other than blind hope!

  14. Hi just a comment from re 12 month visitor visas

my agent said I could apply as it would be better and less risky than trying to go in and out every 3 Months  I just did the 600 application online

as part of my evidence I uploaded a stat dec making it clear that I’m currently not working caring for baby  we’ve applied for spousal visa it’s a 12 month wait (it was at the time I applied!) and that we’d rather do that wait in oz than the uk  I uploaded evidence we had the funds to support me  and confirmed that I knew If visa not granted in that time or refused for spousal visa I’d have to leave and I would not overstay  it was granted within 3 days

I apologise for poor grammar my fully stop button has appeared to have stopped working!

it does not cancel the spousal visa - well it didn’t mine anyway - it will cancel any other tourist visas you currently hold

    hope that helps
