Is it possible for us to secure rental with only my OH in Australia at the time? What sore of identification and details will we need for the rental application?

Hi, We are looking at moving over to Sydney for a job at Macquarie Uni. We would need to be able to commute by public transport from our new place hoping to be around 30mins each way. We are ideally looking for somewhere with some nice green parks/areas to go walking in as we hope to get a dog and nearby shops or pubs would be a bonus (10/15 min walk). We have a budget of upto $650 a week for a 2 bed for a couple. Any ideas of areas to look in would be appreciated.
