Congratulations on the first contact! Do you mind sharing what council please? My husband applied 18/11/2020 and I applied 23/11/2020 as well and we haven't heard any yet, also from Melbourne. Just hoping something will move soon!

Update: We finally had out interview and test done 21/02 for me I moved from original test date of 10/03. My husband's finished his test and interview  today and we both received our approval within an hour of finishing the test. Council: Glen Eira

We're also interested to find our if anyone in Victoria who applied Sept or Oct 2020 have receive invites for ceremony? Or what the current timeline is. Thanks!

Goodluck on those still waiting. It feels good to know it is finally moving. 😊

Yeah sure, 23/11/2020. Still shows as received in immiaccount, from what I’ve read that won’t change until after the test though.

I just asked this is the 2018/19 group as well but wondering if anyone has heard anything from the Melbourne office? What date they are up to processing wise or what capacity they are at? My gut is saying 25% capacity with office restrictions to increase to 50% in Jan (Covid steps) I understand Covid delays but it would even be good to have some indication!

    Hi,

Someone from our office applied for citizenship here in Melbourne last 24 August 2019 and got her citizenship test invitation last 24 Nov 2020 for the 9th of Dec. Hope this helps.

  5. Hi everyone,

My husband is qualified to apply for citizenship today (04/11) while my eldest and I on the 22nd of Nov, we also have our youngest son (2yo) born here while we are on BVA. Can we just apply all together on the 22nd? We're not really rushing given the back log in VIC, we know it's going to be a long wait.

And for cases like this does my husband's application need to be separate or we can lodge as a family?

    Thanks!

Yes. S56 request 8th of May 2019. Medicals submitted couple of weeks later. Only thing is we needed to provide our newborns passport which arrived from the UK one day after the 28day period, but our MA said she informed immigration about it and should be fine. Still waiting.

    Hi MerryPumpkin,

No further details were requested, my MA was pretty proactive with keeping the file up to date.  With recent payslips, also he saw a trend of increased refusals due to 'genuine need for the employee', so as well as a letter from the director we also provided my key achievements, over 3 years of working at the position, contracts won, new clients acquired etc... Also linked with bonus payments, pay increases etc.

    Appreciate your reply mate! Cheers!

  9. Finally, some glimmer of hope, we received our silver mail today! We're just happy and thankful that we're getting closer.

Additional request for documents from sponsor received Jul 15/all documents uploaded Jul 29/ Nomination approved today

I have already expected to wait for 24 months (due to caveat) and just be grateful for everyday. @Hex is right it does help when you expect the worst and hope for the best!

    Hi everyone,

I was really starting to lose hope that I would not get the opportunity to say this, but I got my silver email today. After 21 months my nomination application was finally approved.

The department requested additional documents from my employer in June (ironically while I was overseas), and 42 days later the nomination was approved. They've requested that I complete a new medical (not surprising given that my exam was undertaken in Nov 2017) for my personal application.

I'm not celebrating yet as I have another hurdle to jump.

But, shout out to my 2017 buddies, they will get to you too!!!

Oh wow! Congratulations! I just hope your golden mail arrives soon!

We applied Mar 2018 and my employer received additional documents request last Monday. Hoping to complete it within 14 days and just pray to God that we'll receive the silver email too.

I'm just so glad that you're wait has all been worth it! Good luck!

We applied on the 18th of February 2019

    nothing yet

    no email no news

we sent them a decision ready application with all the possible info that they may need

I don’t know if it is because our application is for customers service manager and as far as I know they look very close to this kind of position

only thing positive it that I just apply for Medicare and I received it this morning

i am super stressed I just hope we will receive some news soon

@Sere We've been waiting for more than a year now, some are waiting for over two years, we understand the frustration, but it helps to know that you're not alone, that's what I feel whenever I'm browsing on this thread. We're waiting, it's hard, but I'm grateful I'm not the only one, and I pray that everyone gets a positive result soon.

I'm just channeling the energy of frustration to something more positive and just be genuinely happy for those who were lucky to have their visa approved within a couple of months. Goodluck to you! 😊😊

Hi,have you received any email from immigration regarding to processing time before?we were both applied on march 2018 but i haven't got any email yet

    Hi Lulumanda,

No I haven't, we receive a confirmation on adding a dependent last December because I gave birth to my youngest June last year, but other than that our status is still "received" We even had our health exam done last month, thinking it may give our application a nudge but still no update.

  13. Hi All,

    New in this forum.

Been back reading and this chat is very helpful. Congratulations to all those who got their visas approved!

We have an 836 applied last April 27 2017, received an email of s56 Request for more Info February 2018 but no email regarding queue date, usually how long does it take to get a queue date?

    Cheers Everyone!
