I’m sure that it’s already been mentioned on here that someone asked immigration if they could have their 143 visa issued whilst they were onshore as they didn’t want to leave Australia to activate it because of COVID and we’re told no. The conditions/law of the visa cannot be changed and you must be offshore for the 143 to be issued.

Then I have absolutely no idea why someone could make an application for 143 in 2018 and be told he is currently being processed for the visa !!
if it’s true then people should be asking why as it’s out of date order and taking a place that really belongs to someone from a 2016 application. Seems very fishy !!
Good luck to that person but it’s very unfair to applicants who are patiently waiting in 2016/2017. I have just checked my letter that I received and it’s the same.

Hi does anyone know if they are still processing offshore 143 visas to completion? I've been waiting for 2nd VAC since March.
I see the government have said that the Australian borders will remain closed until late 2021
Hi,
there’s been a few January 2016 applicants finalised recently, but not many. Lots of parents in the same boat as you waiting for 2nd VAC.
Check back on this thread -

i think you are right that these two applicants could be the 173 holders. the latest news i heard from this forum is the guy who applied in mid Jan and received notification last week. Other than that, no one heard of anything from home affair.
The budget and migration plan that released today is another bad news for parent stream (reduced from 7K to 5K). Sadly we might wait for event longer.
Yes a I’ve seen a couple of 173 to 143 but that’s to be expected as they are in Oz.
The only saving grace is that when they do start issuing them we are 1st in line
don’t give up hoping -

Hi,
I followed some migration agencies and noticed two 143 applicants that applied in March 2016 have got their visa granted.
BTW i had the same fight with centrelink when they rejected my application in the first place. They simply rejected my case because they didn't check the file i uploaded in mygov. Just cant believe how irresponsive they are.
The only March applicant that I know was someone who moved from a 103 visa to a 143 visa therefore had been in Q for a long time in total, over 5 years. So it could be that the Two issued moved over to a 143.
Centrelink are awful to deal with, we really got the runaround from them. Our application was handed in to an office and uploaded in McGov and they still rejected it. Ringing the centre in Tasmania who deals with applications was a nightmare. They admitted it was there but took over 4 weeks to acknowledge it.

i understand a number of people including me who lodged visa in Jan and Feb 2016 are still waiting for 2nd VAC however some of Mar and Apr have already received request.
Can you share your processing time if you are around the same dates? especially the date AOS is accepted
Mine is in the signature.
Hope all have good luck with 2nd VAC
Hi,
I don’t know any in March or April 2016 being asked for 2nd vac. I’m March 2016.
-
Hi BargeUK,
as you can see from my signature info that the wait for the 2nd VAC request is very slow at the moment. And I know that there are others still waiting for the 2nd VAC request as far back as January this year. It’s just a long waiting game because of COVID.
I can see your timeline on your signature so you have set it up correctly. -
COVID has slowed the processing down considerably

Great news

Why? What makes you all special? This is an international tragedy which has killed thousands and threatens to ruin the lives of millions. Immigration needs to look after its own citizens not the citizens of other countries who may want to move here. They’re not in the business of family reunion as a priority, nor should they be. With all due respects, elderly parents are not a bonus for Australia. I’d rather they got things sorted and working for Australians before they bother about others coming in - Sorry!
Such a heartless response. And the majority of 143 applicants are not Elderly! Australia have to open borders at some point, why not to visa applicants first?

They did this to me - rejected as said I hadn’t paid but docs were uploaded and I had gone into an office to check. I called them and had to fight with them for about an hour, they were telling me there was no one else I could speak to and it would be reviewed as they could see everything was there and weren’t sure how they were missed. I wouldn’t put the phone down until It was sorted out and finally got a letter saying it was accepted! However haven’t had request for 2nd Vac yet so hoping it hasn’t slowed everything down and caused issues. Centrelink are terrible!
Did you call the AOS office in Tasmania and can you remember how long after it took you to receive acceptance letter after the phone call?
My son in law is ringing them again on Monday. -
Thats a centrelink form?
Im also Perth bound eventually!
-
Thank you but the text said it was rejected as nothing received by them and they have confirmed on the phone they have got it, so its just a case of them missing it. not sure how. Im sure this has happened to others in the past, I can remember seeing a couple of posts

Yes, he uploaded everything, Centrelink said everything there that should be

Waiting patiently for AOS acceptance letter, Son in law gets a text on 11th March saying AOS rejected as not paid in time. He goes to centrelink, waiting 90 minutes to be told that he needs to ring AOS processing centre in Tasmania as paperwork is on system! Centrelink can't call as they are now closed due to time difference. Son in law rings 1st thing on the 12th, waits 80 minutes on hold (after being cut off once after 30 minutes on hold). Told it will be reviewed and he will get a call back before close of business on the 13th, no phone call. centrelink are a nightmare

What happens in an Aos interview?
Hi
my son in law said that they just read the T&Cs regarding the AOS to him and asked him if he understood. That was it.
-
It says in the auto response from the mailbox to send the letter to immi as they can process application quicker if the client sends the acceptance letter straight to them.

Hi all,
do I need to take my comms bank guarantee letter into centrelink or can I submit it online onto Mygov? I’m sure I’ve seen something on here before about this but I can’t find it.
thank you in advance.

Hi
mine said I would need an Australian police check if I had spent 1 year or more in Oz
so that’s accumulatively.

Yes its very unfair, my comment was in response to a comment further up about maybe Immi were prioritising onshore applications. It’s probably a CO error. Let’s see what happens.
