  1. Hi all, My husband and I have just had our 189 visas granted and are hoping to move out to Queensland in the new year. He is a builder, he has an NVQ level 3 in Bricklaying which I believe is equivalent to an Australian diploma and he has over 10 years experience. The Queensland license requires an Advanced Diploma. I believe he can apply for the qualification through recognition of prior learning but can’t find much information online about how. Has anyone done this? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks, Cerys
  2. Hi all, I know there’s no exact answer to this but I’ve just been contacted by a CO asking for another document. I provided the document the same day but I was wondering how long I should expect to wait to get a grant? I’ve read in some places that they don’t look at the application again until 28 days later. Anyone have any experience with this please?
  3. I did ask for one but was told it wasn't something they usually do. They said the PSAO would put something together for me but I haven't heard anything back. Fingers crossed as the CO has only asked for the character reference it should be ok. I submitted a 189 visa application on 25th April and got the email this morning so just under 4 months. I've uploaded the reference already so hoping it won't take too much longer to get the grant!
  4. Hello, I was in a similar situation to you when I applied, I’m in the Army Reserve and couldn’t get a Certificate of Service so when I submitted my application I attached a copy of my MOD90 and a few pay slips. I’ve had an email this morning from a case officer requesting a character reference from someone in the regiment so I’d suggest you get that. They haven’t asked for anything else at the moment but I’ll let you know if they do ?
  5. I got my skills assessment for Secondary School Teacher from AITSL in November. The website says it takes 10 weeks to process the application. They emailed me after 9 weeks to say they’d posted the result and it arrived a few days later. I was panicking with mine too but from what I found online, most of them take around 10 weeks
  6. Hello, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the write place but I'm hoping someone may be able to help or point me in the right direction. I am in the process of applying for a 189 visa (invitation received and filling in the forms at the moment) for me and my fiance. We are both in the Army Reserves in the UK and are not planning on leaving until we have our visas and are about to leave. The website says that you need discharge certificates for military service but we obviously won't have these to supply with our application. Has anyone else had a similar experience and provided other evidence? Thanks in advance
