  1. Just wanna bring something up. I've seen a lot of people saying that after months the CO asked for documents like police checks, medical etc. Why didn't you guys submitted them in the first place?

My MA told me to provide all the documents in the checklist ASAP to potentially help speed up the decision. We got all documents attached within a month after lodging the applications. Fingers crossed.

IMPORTANT: - If you have applied for 457, 187 or 186

The Department is no longer requesting further documents or information and they are making its decision based on the documents/information already in Department’s file as of the decision date.

It is visa applicants’ and business sponsor/nominator’s responsibilities to keep updating the documents or information in relation to your nomination and visa application with the Department. Please ensure: -

    1. Visa Applicants: - provide all necessary documents including police certificates and medical insurance as soon as possible (for 457 visa). Ensure that your visa application is decision-ready.

    2. Business Sponsor/Nominator: - keep updating the Department by providing recent BAS statements, Tax Returns, Bank Statements, Training Benchmark, change in business structure such as Organisation Chart, change of directors or shareholders or address etc.

If not previously provided, please make a detailed submission on ‘Genuine Position’ and provide ASIC Current and Historical Extract, Position Description, Evidence of Local Market Testing, RCB (Form 1404) Certification and Employment Contract that meet State, National and Fair Work Australia requirements.

Note: Start working for the employer (if permissible) ASAP and do not wait for the visa approval. Provide payslips and PAYG summary as evidence that the position is genuine and that you are already working for the sponsoring employer.

Good Luck to all from Wickham Lawyers Team.

Yes it is correct. It is a different application therefore they should attach all required documents.

As MA acts on your behalf so I don't think you can see all documents they uploaded by their Account.

I'm using a MA, imported the application and can see the documents.

    hey guys

just imported application to my immi account and discovered that MA hasn't attached my IELTS to my 186 application.

is it possible, if i have IELTS attached to my 457 , there is no need to attach to my 186? i don't think so, but you never know .

Or i don't see all attachments?

Different applications, they should've attached it. Ring them.

  5. Calm down people...

We don't know how they work, maybe there are different teams within the same office/state, hence the different updates. Even if those status updates are legit, it doesn't mean your application is not being assessed right now or won't be anytime soon as we have people from Dec/17 already granted for example.

Yes, only conjecture - and I'm absolutely sure that it's not supposed to work like that.  It certainly wouldn't be official policy, and anyone caught doing it would be ticked off.

I'm just saying that you're dealing with human beings, not automatons, and they're going to behave like human beings.  After 30 years of supervising office workers, it's the kind of behaviour I've seen time and time again, so I doubt department officials would be any different.

However it's not going to be noticeable to the outside world unless the department is snowed under, that's when people start making those kind of choices.

You've said it all. I was wondering myself the same thing, including if the employer could make any difference. Mine is not a huge sponsor but they've had at least 4 PR's granted in the last 12 months and the latest one took only 5 months.

That's what i think too.. it doesn't help those stuck int he system though does it >:(

yeah it doesn't... If I was waiting for over 12 months, I would definitely try to contact them to see what's going on. They say it slows down the process but the experience I had for a visitors visa was the opposite.

  8. I'm betting on 7-8 months for TRT. A co-worker got theirs last month after 5 months and one in 6 before that.

If you have a look at the spreadsheet it looks like the processing time has been decreasing in the last months. I know that there's still people waiting for over a year but I think that's just how immi works. Maybe new applications fall in the new timeframes and the old ones still stay in the queue. Not fair, makes no sense but I think that's how it works.

  9. I've got one contact experience with the immigration but it was related to a visitor visa.

My sister visited Australia a few years ago and she brought my little niece without the father. We sent all documents for a regular visitors visa and the case officer request an authorization form signed by the father. We sent it after two weeks but it took almost two months after that for the visa to be granted whereas for my sister it took just a week for a simple visitors visa.

After the first month has passed I started to get worried cause their trip was only 1 week away. That's when I started calling them. At first they said they couldn't disclose anything because I wasn't listed as a contact or representative. I probably called 5 more times adding a little bit of drama and after being able to actually talking to someone over there, the visa was granted one week later.

I'm not saying that calling them actually helps or anything but for that case, I think it did. I don't know if the application was caught in some sort of limbo but I like to think that my calls made them have another look at it.

Same here, I asked to my MA to call the Immigration office, but she said that they will not say much and they will put the phone call on old for an hour.

The excuse was that she doesn't have that time to wait, but on the other hand, we can wait for months or maybe years without having any news. ??

It is so unfair for all of us.

Based on my experience, the truth is that MA are useless. Their service 99% of the time is just document forwarding.

They take long time to get back to you whenever you have a query and they don't seem to wanna do much work.

I'm sure they only exist because there's people too busy to deal with that kinda stuff or too afraid of something going wrong because they did something wrong. I'm both the first and the latter :)
