Now what i need to know is if i just take a photo of that particular page, will it be ok? Does it make them sense that that date was originally connected to applicant first arrival date? How did you upload it?

It should be fine, immi knows your first date or arrival anyway. They asked me at the interview what my first date was, but didn't ask to see my passport or what. As if it was just a test question 🙂

Really, that many? Woah. I thought maybe 3-4 per year! So 12 per year?

100 people in attendance or 100 people gaining citizenship do you think? 100 people gaining citizenship in moreland every month weeks seems a lot!

80-100 people gaining citizenship from what I've read, but not sure how reliable is the source (another forum). It also said the backlog was currently about 400 people (but I suspect it has gotten worse with all the new approvals in the last couple of months, so hard to say).

What I know is there has been 3 ceremonies since my approval (including the September one which I'm sure I'm not on the list), and no news from Council. Soon my waiting time from approval to ceremony is going to be longer than from lodgement to approval 🙂

Did you not find a sooner date for your test date?

My PR has expired and we are going overseas on 18th Dec. I have sat my test (beginning of June) and heard nothing. Should I be apply for the visa to leave the country (I think it’s a 155 visa)? How long do they take to process that?

Yes, even if you had your approval tomorrow, waiting times for the ceremony can be long (I've been waiting for more than 2 months, and no news yet). So it might be safer to apply for a RRV.

Nice. I managed to move mine about 3 weeks forward this morning to mid-december. I will keep alternating between mine and my partners!

Yes, keep checking everyday, I managed to move mine from November to June after 3 times! If you check often enough, I'm pretty sure you can get a slot for the next few days!

I got my approval the week after (early July) and now waiting my ceremony invite with Moreland. Looks like it's a long wait at this Council, be prepared!

  5. Hi,

I understand you would be eligible around the 26th of July 2020 in that case. You need to be in Australia 4 years prior to your lodgement date, and in your case you came back on the 26th of July. I guess the immigration officer was right, and the residence calculator doesn't really take into consideration where you were 4 years before your lodgement date.

There are a couple of posts on this subject, I think.

    Cheers

  6. 1 minute processing time, well done mate 🙂

How long is your student visa for? It it was a straightforward application, it was probably processed by their computer, temporary visas are not as critical as permanent residency visas.

It is the same thing that is said by me in short.

No, you said you would receive the approval letter soon as you have passed the test, which is not correct and misleading.

Again, for some applications, approval can take several months after you have passed the test. It is not 'as soon as' you have passed it.

You would receive your approval letter soon as you have passed the test. All the best!!

I don't think this is correct, it just depends. Some have their application approved on the same day as test, others have been waiting for months. You will receive your approval letter a few days after your immiaccount shows 'approved'

    Hi

can any please help through citizenship requirements process. Got few questions

came to Australia in June 2009

    got PR in December 2016

was away from October 2015 to November 2016 that’s more than year.

But when calculate requirements in residence calculator it say I’m eligible to apply in Jan 2020( that when I use my law full residency date as June 2008).

But the rule says you have to be in Australia for last 4 years.

And if I use my PR date as first lawful date in Australia (December 2016) it say I will be eligible in December 2020.

Can any one please help me out.

    Thank you

    Hi Kkk7,

Be very careful - if you think your eligible date is Jan 2020, check where were you exactly 4 years before, in Jan 2016. According to your post, you were not in Oz, in that case I understand (from what I read in previous posts in this forum) that you would not be eligible even though the residence calculator says you are. You would only be eligible in November 2020, 4 years after you returned to Australia, providing you didn't exceed the allowed time overseas.

This is just information I read on the forum, double check by yourself and/or ask a migration agent if you're not sure...
